Well done on getting a lodger so quickly ISOM - I might be having one move in with me too to raise a bit of extra cash! Did you get your lodger to sign any sort of agreement and if so do you know where i can get hold of one for free (the only ones i can see on the internet you need to pay for and im literally watching every penny at the moment!) Also, have are you arranging things living wise? Obviously they will have their own room and access to kitchen, bathroom etc but what ablt simple things like toilet roll, tea, coffee? Are you providing food and letting them use your washing machine? What about washing powder? Sorry for all the questions!!!!MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. Bargain hunter feel free to pm me questions - am anxious about posting the full detail on here! Suffice to say there is a contract but it depends on the type of tennancy - if they are just having a room and sharing bathroom etc then you need a House share AGREEMENT

sorry typing went loopy...if you cant find one let me know and I'll anon the one I have. You can then use the rent a room scheme so under 4700 (I think is the amount but check on ugov) then you dont pay tax...I did mine with all bills and you also need to take into account that youre council tax will go up as you'll loose your single persons rebate...also need to check re insurance and mortgage provide are happy/will cover - endsleigh do a specialist one...feel free to ask ? by pm...
Have had a first relatively relaxed and ok day today since all this began...saw the cats in their new home and they are happy and I was happy and didnt get upset...then met a friend and we both had a haircut - fun with a one year old!! Mine was my bday pressie and was really the one and only thing I want at the moment - was getting long and scraggly but now lovely shaped and I no longer feel like a troll! Then babysitting and now just going to chill and do some knitting before bed! Lodgers room has (with her agreement) been sorted as she cant cope with it...shes away until Thurs so I have peace and can pee with the door open!! hurrah...
LT am able to slow down a bit and its amazing how a time like this makes you realise whats important...and what isnt. Been a steep, painful learning curve in many ways but I remain blessed by the love and support I've received!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Had a nice day and very excited as having a day out next week. Friend has a vw camper van...bright yellow - how cool is that!! and is goin to take me to the beach for bacon and marmalade sandwiches. One of my best things. I cannot tell you the absolute joy in discovering the simple pleasures in life again. Unfortunately, these are smattered with some rather nasty feelings of what can only be described as utter dread at the moment so will chat through this with the appropriate/relevant people...never experienced that before and its really horrible...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1!
