    nooooooooooooooooooo :huh::shocked::huh::shocked::huh::shocked::huh:

Just been to the website with a view to buying some fab new wedges to go with the all the stuff sat in my virtual New Look basket :shhh: & that was the awful headline.

I am stunned, shocked, dismayed, horrified & frankly just a wailing weeping mess :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

I'm just not sure I can carry on ...

Lula, I felt exactly the same when Ravel went under :( I wish I could offer you some words of encouragement, but I don't think I've ever gotten over it

I know it's not very MSE and I probably shouldn't suggest it, but what I did is take the opportunity to stock up. I stalked their closing down sales and came away with two handbags and two pairs of shoes :D I still miss them though :(

Talk about lureing us here under false pretences. Who is superwoman? Heres me imagining Lula as a stiletto wearing underwear on the outside of her clothing kida gal who arrives at work raises one arm in a fist diagonally above her head and yells I am f-ing fabulous whilst her barbie pink cape flutters jauntily behind her in some imaginary breeze.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I will treasure that image for ever :D

Triplets! :rotfl: Although I once managed to fall asleep with my head in a magazine, and woke up with the print in reverse all over my face. Took an industrial sized vat of face scrub to remove it too. Oooowwwies

Do I recall correctly that shoes and bags are not included in the £100 clothes buying challenge? ;) *Imagines a pink-caped figure strutting towards Faith branches, 0% card in hand.*

    Hey gorgeous people,

my sincere apologies for yet another long absence :o & no, actually I havent been camped outside my local branch of faith since last post ... although it did occur to me. Ohhh Ravel, I used to be regular there too, but dont think I have anything left from those days.

Anyway, I didnt come here to talk about shoes  no, really I didnt. I was all set to post on sunday evening with tales of my impressive deeds but received a rare call from elder sibling which resulted in 2 hours & half abottle of wine (+ a broken wine glass & consequent sluicing down of worktop - yes, on the very day I washed the floor  makes achange form either DDs cake mixture or spag bol though ).

Woke up on monday with killer hangover & had hideous day at work but lets go back to the weekend for now.

Saturday was like a laundry marathon relay race ... 5 loads all done & dried on the line in one day :j. It did require a fair amount of logistical planning & some origami style folding to cram it all in the airing cupboard but in between all this I decide it would be fabulous idea to paint my bed frame :undecided.

(Having done much pondering & researching for cheap holidays, I've come to the conclusion that they only exist in either my dreams or in the form of camping in the back garden. This is much better than the real thing eg : No fuel required, no pitching fees, ice pack freezing, extra food, expensive amusements when it pours with rain & best of all, no having to share a bathroom :j. That is my plan. DD wants her room refurbed, the hall, stairs, my bedroom & bathroom need painting & I can do all this for the price of a weeks holiday. It will be lovely to have a freshly decorated & refurbed home & will keep us busy & active. We can spend the rest of this year revamping our home & garden, paying off the debt & can then start next year with plans for celebrating the end of being debt ridden for me & the end of primary school for DD :D.)

With all this in mind, I thought I may as well get on with it & as I'm treating myself to a new wardrobe then I need to save money by not buying a new bed. The frame was plain wood, I gave it 3 coats of emulsion as an undercoat & will be doing the top coat in white satin next weekend. It already looks fab & has totally changed the feel of my room. For now I am trying to ignore the fact that I will need to rip the carpet up & sand the floor boards down _pale_.

The walls & ceiling are the next task & that's scheduled for this coming weekend when I have 4 days off.

The wardrobe has been ordered & paid for - earning me £17 Quidco cashback :) & I knew my impulsiveness was vindicated when the carriers called today to ask if they could deliver next thursday. I have swapped my usual friday day off to thursday next week due to school being closed for polling. What's more; due to the bank holiday I will be working at home-job that day too, so still earning pennies

At risk of rambling on for hours & then having to edit my post as it's too long so thought it best to continue in the next one.

No need to keep reading; I am merely compounding my thoughts into written words to remind me where I'm at.

As expected; after my fab day out with inspirational friend on friday, I'm back to working at warp factor 5 again :). That & reading Moos comment about superwoman reminded me of what I'm all about.

I need structure & deadlines to work to. Too much spare time & no deadlines is fatal. It all goes wrong when I start to feel under pressure & guilty about family stuff.

The solution is to encourage them to fit in with my life & schedules rather than be susceptible to the guilt. If my siblings are too busy & dont maintain regular contact with the elders, it doesnt mean I have to make up for it. Let their behaviour & actions be on their consciences, not mine :p.

I spent a fair amount of time ferrying DD1 about at the weekend, but it suited me, I offered rather than her asking & she also came along to visit the elders on sunday which makes it easier for me too ;).

Work-job is utterly manic at the moment, to the extent that I woke up at 2.30 this morning , having a heated conversation with a colleague about how they are really hacking me off :o. I ended up making peppermint tea, working it all out in my mind & then having to read a chapter of my book before I was calm enough to go back to sleep.

I do love this job & all the guys I work with, & this freakishly volatile project is a real opportunity for me to take a step up & show I can handle the pressure in a very male dominated industry. Stranded Boss is now back, but another key member of staff is off sick indefinitely so I am determined to take on his duties & succeed. The contract is due for completion the last week of term which is perfect, so I can then have my week's holiday & relax.

I havent made any payments to debt this week as not had the time to go through any direct debits & standing orders that may be due :o.

Have no cash at all in my purse, but did pay another £20 of £2 coins into the bank on my way home yesterday. Car running on fresh air & unlikely to make it friday so may have to break with payday tradition & fill up tomorrow on CC.

No idea what the current debt figure is due to using Co Op CC to pay for stuff then transferring from current account.

I have Clothes Challenge spends to declare but again need to add up exact figures ... I will be back in control of it all by May 1st & have figures to show for it too.

There have been many NSDs although this does not compensate for having now spent about £800 this month .

By the way, still no sign of a new & improved Council Tax bill or refund from previous year's over payments .

Need to get to bed now, so thanks for all your lovely posts, even if I dont reply the same day, I do read & appreciate them :A

Will catch up with everyone elses doing soon, I promise

    bye for now
    xx

    Morning :)

The decorating/renovating plan sounds great - much better to have a lovely home all year round than a holiday for just one week if you see what I mean. Though keep in mind that taking up the carpet in your bedroom will have an effect on how warm your room is - mum and dad did it in the front room and its now the coldest room in the house, so we have to have the fire going more. M and D dont care though, they just want it to look nice.

    Hey Lula

    That all sounds fab.

The work stuff sounds exciting. It is good when you get the opportunity to 'step up'. I'm involved in a special project at work and it is good as I'm having to deal with other departments and it is great when I hear about good feeback from other teams. Especially if my boss has heard it ;)

I think your home decorations plan sound great and next year when you are DF you will be able to plan a really exciting holiday (within budget of course!) with DD.

    xx
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

The title just about sums today up.

It was a choice between the wine or doing a long stretch at HMP for murdering boss.

Today started off well; I had a good night's sleep & was up, showered & dressed before DD was up & the home-job work load was collected :). I delivered DD to school for choir practice at 8.15 & by 8.30 was chickening out of running car on fumes & filling it up at Tatco. £46  later I was on my way to work & arrived 15 minutes early & ready to rock .

It all went downhill from there :(.

The special contract is an absolute nightmare & it appears that against all good advice (including that of his business partner, the company accountant & the glaringly obvious fact of already being under staffed & over worked) Gropey has told the client (themselves under huge pressure & penalties for late delivery to their client) that of course we can take on the other -failed- contractors share of work :mad::eek:. Frankly, we cant cope.

The client is a huge organization that cut out all it s middle management & is now run by underpaid & under experienced staff who are terrified of upsetting their client who (rather irritatingly) is a large financial organization which recently had to be bailed out by we the tax payer.

I am not sympathetic, particularly when said organization should really not - in my humble opinion - be spending 6 figure sums on aesthetic improvements :mad::mad:

Personal feelings aside, Gropey is an old skool style 'chat & charm' type, who micro manages every department & wants a meeting every 10 minutes to discuss 'Going Forward' which merely results in more time wasting & further confusion & totally !!!!ing off his staff who simply want correct information so that they can get on with the jobs that they are perfectly capable of doing by themselves without any interference.

One such member of staff  today remarked that no further meetings were necessary, but more action would be helpful. Member of staff was given 4 separate tasks to do simultaneously, none of which had the correct info from the client to be able to progress & then inquired as to which should take precedence ... was told very curtly & loudly to "just do it". Member of staff is covering for clever colleague who is now off work & also trying to keep the replacement informed of work procedures.

Member of staff made it very clear that they didnt sign up for this kind of !!!!!! when they accepted the job. Member of staff may well have lost themselves this job, but doesnt care :p Aint nobodys' b!tch but their own ;)

Member of staff is very glad they havent quit their other job tho. Life is too short & they are far too F fabulous :D.

Off to watch Desperate Houswives with second glass of wine :shhh:
