Wonders if she dare mention that Faith Shoes are in administration and they are selling shoes for 50% off..I am sure that Lula mentioned that this was her favourite shop.

    thanks Sweetie :iloveyou:

You'll be very surprised to learn that I havent yet been anywhere near Faith .

I'm focusing on the decorating & refurbing at the moment. I think you have a great life/debt balance going on & I've decided to echo that myself. I am just not a slave to debt, work or anything too gruelling & whilst I really do admire those who can make the choice to just throw every penny at their debts, I just dont want to live like that. It amkes me angry & if I were to drop down dead tomorrow then I would be really hacked off at dying with a shoddy home but slightly less debt .

Having taken the decision to not go abroad this year, I am determined to redecorate our home & make it a nice place to be :).

The new job has turned out to be so stressful ( havent slept for more than 4 hours a night in the last week :( ) & with so much office political undercurrent going on, I need a calm & pleasant environment to come home to. I've also discovered that if I'm not busy doing stuff at home then work starts to creep into my mind. I'm not ready to have the kind of job that I take home with me so my mind needs to be busy as well as my hands.

The last week has been horrendous & if it wasnt for one of our contractors helping out & getting me the info I need to keep the client sweet, then I would probably have just walked out. Apart from the aggro of getting the tasks done within the tight weekly deadlines, I seem to be having to play mind games with colleagues who are struggling with their own security & identity issues. It's the sort of crap that has kept me out of the office environment for so long. I just cant be bothered with it .

I've not made a single payment towards clearing the debt, but have instead been buying cheap mini chests of drawers & painting them, buying fabric dye & using it to revamp some rugs, buying lamps & lampshades, buying nice food & wine so I can have a go at this low carb thing starting monday _pale_ & generally not really thinking about moneysavng at all :o.

I still need to hang the wardrobe doors & put up a new curtain pole, but have come to the conclusion that I might as well pay someone to do it; I really dont have the patience & although there are guys at work who could, I dont think I want to go down that particular route ... :undecided

Dammit I have hiccups, how embarassing is that :rotfl:

I'm also learing how to pack my wheelie bin so that I can fit in things that I probably shouldnt, I put out all my glass & tins for the local collection, recycle all my cardboard & plastic myself & compost as much as I can, so think I'm entitled to a bit of sneakery now & then ;).

Off to bed now & will hopefully have more news tomorrow :D

As you know, I totally agree with the 'having a life whilst paying off debt' school of thought - everybody has to do what works for them! If I am allowed nothing, I want everything - and then go completely over the top :o

    Hi Lula

Just a word of warning - be careful with a low carb diet, having zero carbs as made me a bit poorly and have had to go back on them..so I have a bit of bread occasionally and some spuds or pasta. I still start each morning with a pint of water with the juice of a whole lime and I will drink around 2 litres of water a day. I was told to eat raw veg but I can't stomach anything raw unless its tomatoes or fruit.:rotfl:

I have been doing a bit of money saving tho - I had a coldsore at the weekend and normally I would get some Zovirax but I refuse to pay nearly £7 for a tiny tube but I was in Lloyds chemist and they have their own cold sore cream containing all the same ingredients and in the same quantities as Zovirax but at £4.95 or thereabouts - either way it was cheaper than Zovirax and works just as well.

I can't be doing with office politics either - we don't mind tho if you vent on your diary.
