Hung the washing out on the wine, instructing large clouds to wait until they were over the neighbours garden before leaking; their bonfire was still smouldering & smelling

*Channeling a Stepford Wives laundry moment, with bottles being unearthed from the bottoms of laundry baskets, and the Stepford Wives chugging away at a charming little Pinot Noir whilst attaching garments randomly and shambolically to their washing lines using far too many mismatched pegs...*

No wonder you're tired! :T Congrats on the carpet wrangling.

That sounds like a fab way to spend a day Lula. I'm amazed you've managed to do so much in so little time.

Bless you for thinking of me sweetie :A

I wouldnt dare go anywhere near Faith at the moment , I look like a tramp who just happened to be asleep in a cosy skip on someones nasty carpet when another person threw in about 5 different coloured half empty tins of paint :o.

I've forgotten what makeup is & had to go the diy store to get more paint in the pouring rain & sunglasses so no one would recognize me. DD refused to get out of the car & I'm not sure whether the reason was shame or laziness :undecided.

I had the most uncomfortable nights sleep ever. The living room is at the front & an eerie organge glow pervades the dark + the sounds of youthful neighbours having full volume conversation on returning from a night out ( think I remeber those ...) & then at 6.30 I dreamt I was under a giant waterfall but it turned out it was actually the radiators gurgling; I think they might need some attention.

Creaked & groaned a bit, then had the first of many coffees, washed down some chocolate & got to work on the floor. Inspite of using kneeling pads, my knees are red raw & look as though I've been having a far more exciting & lusty time than a submissive ho :(

The first coat is now dry & having stocked up with the last tin of the correct type of paint in the shop & lunched on a combination of microwaved frankfurters strangulated inside the leftover tortilla wraps, a packet of hula hoops & a picnic bar , I must now prise open another tin & then assume the position ...

Yes, I have been spending more cash & yes I will return later & declare it all.

    bye for now
    xx

It is now done, & all I have to do is get a disguise & take it to the dump under cover of darkness. Yes, I am ashamed of it :o.

Best check you're not being followed by an umarked car lest they mistake the carpet for a body :rotfl:.

Well done on all your DIYing, I'm tired just reading about it!

Well guys I made it - just :j.

The good thing about an uncomfortable sleeping arrangement is that one is very keen to get up & moving rather early :rotfl:

Started on the coffee at 7 & by 8 was inspecting last night's work. The floor looked fab - so clean & gleaming :) & the walls looked ok, but a bit patchy so decided to just slap another coat on before I woke up enough to realise what I was doing.

That was all done by 11 & then I began the long & painful process of putting stuff back in the room. I did take a pic of the room with just the bed, curtain & stereo to remind how clean & tidy & clutter free I like to live.

I got brutal & managed to chuck away a lot of sentimental stuff which is a healthy & positive action.

There's still a bit of work to do; get a new curtain pole, dye the curtains & some rugs I already have, to save money ;) buy a narrow chest of drawers, build the wardrobe when it arrives, buy a stand for the stereo & maybe the tv to go on - deliberating whether I still want it in my room - keep it tidy, clean & clutter free.

This is the first time in many many years I will have created a room just for me. It's all white with a bit of fuschia & I love it :D.

I managed to get the ironing done, will get up at 6 to do home-job work tomorrow & took the executive decision not to worry about completing Grumpy's spreadhseets. If he wants them that much, then he'll just have to learn how to do it himself :p

It's a shame but I'm kinda dreading going in tomorrow :o I dont want a confrontation, but I'm also very aware that as yet I havent mentally backed down & admitted I was wrong, I can be a bit reactionary & have a feisty nature & temper so have been expecting to feel a bit recalcitrant. I have however, been reflecting on a conversation I had with one of the contractors who confessed to feeling like a caged animal since he'd been based at our offices everyday .

I think that is also affecting me. After so many years of working at home on my own, I do enjoy the companionship, however, there is an expected way of doing things & routines that I struggle with. I go in & open all the blinds & turn the lights off. The others come in, close the blinds & turn the lights on. Whatever I try to do to make a space for myself or my own way of working is either frowned upon or downright overridden  .

I'm used to organizing & managing my workload myself, at this place, I'm constantly being told to change what I'm doing to fit in some other crappy & time wasting task. It seems to have become more important to point out any minor mistakes rather than just getting the work done for the clients,

Will spend the next week or so being observant in an objective way, without getting drawn in to any confrontations or disagreements. I am going to try to view it all as a social experiment & try not to get involved personally.

    Must go to bed now

    night night
    xx

It could be worse Lula, my friend has just been subjected to a new "effective working" thingymajiggybob in her office... they now have black stickers where their keyboard, mouse, telephone and bin should be. Some poor [STRIKE]sod[/STRIKE] person has pleasure of auditing this arrangement and adding names to a spreadsheet for a weekly [STRIKE]name and shame seesion[/STRIKE] discussion!

To say it is driving her insane and bringing out her rebellious side is perhaps a bit of an understatement!

And why, oh why, oh why, do people insist on closing blinds and leaving lights on! Let there be light! Natural light!!!!

*Rant over. Time to sleep it off :)*

    Hi Lula

With you on the natural light - I sit next to the window (and am very precious about it :o), very few areas of our building have natural light!
