    Yo people :hello:

I am bad. In fact, when it comes to being frugal, updating my Quest, sticking to a grocery budget & generally behaving in a MSE stylee kinda way, I am total rubbish.

Oh well, cant be good all the time :p.

Hmmm, having sauntered over from watching Buzzcocks with wine in one hand & peanuts in the other, I can assure you that I may not be doing an awful lost of debt busting, but I have been doing an awful lot of work in the last couple of weeks & I just havent had the va va voom to update any MSD type stuff.

It's quite shameful but, until tonight I hadnt even written this weeks date in my Big Pink Book :o. I have been paying things that need to be paid but my internet banking site is on the verge of crash & I no longer trust that it's updating my transactions correctly. It's being updgraded as I type which is handy as when I logged on earlier, it hadnt produced either a record of the bank charges that were due to be applied on the 19th or a new CC statement so I can only guess at the real balance .

I'm not impressed with the Virgin site either; having spent the best part of an hour attempting to register & then record about 37 separate pieces of security information, it now wont let me log in & insists that I need to call a special number to reactivate internet access.

Tried that, but frankly I have better things to do with my time than listen to recorded messages so I decided not to bother & to just wait for my first statement.

In honesty, the knowledege that the majority of the debt is now at 0% has completely change my attitude to debt busting & ther is no longer that sense of urgency. As long as I clear that CC by the end of March, I'll pretty much have cracked it.

I'm continuing to use the Co Op CC to pay for purchases & then transfer the amount over from my current account + pay a bit extra & am startig to feel in control of it all. I keep reading the stoozing thread & just wish I was in a position to play at that.

I've totted up April spends (so far) & it's not pretty. The grocery & household spends are over £200, although interestingly I've spent £117.50 in Waitrose & over £130  in Tatco, which just compounds my theory that Tatco is bad place because the majority of that spending was not on either grocery or household items.

Must continue with one-woman Tatco embargo ( bar monthly petrol top up).

I must also avoid Primarni on the grounds that they sell ridiculously cheap childrens clothes, bed linen & other things that result in my having spent over £60 in there this month

Nearly £80 on shoe repairs + new shoes & accessories :o.

Another £26 on clothes via ebay, + £30 odd on other bits & pieces & amazingly, only about £12 on top-up shopping in the co op.

Grand total of spends = £ 580 including £52 on childcare but not the money spent on days out.

I loved not working at home -job last week, but really really missed my 'pocket money' :o. For all my moaning & grousing, I simply cannot afford to quit home-job any time soon if I wish to continue having a life while debt busting.

Clearly, DD does get a bit tired with having to go to camp, but if I plan ahead I can save up some cash towards the summer hols & will then be able to afford to take time off from home-job again :D

Work-job is completely bonkers at the moment; we won a joint contract & now the other company are not coping with the schedule so we have been asked to take over the whole project _pale_ We are all determined to cope with it for the next 3 months but it's rather fraught & chaotic at the moment, particulalry as one boss is still stranded somewhere in the Caribbean ... possibly until May 2nd :(

This week I have paid double amounts into the funds to compensate for last week so am pleased to report that I now have enough to pay for DDs clubs & the deposit for her residential trip next year :). Now I just need to start saving for her new bike...

I'm meeting a friend for coffee & catch up tomorrow & really looking forward to it as I know she'll motivate me to get on with the decorating that I still havent done :o. I'm cultivating friendships with our contractors at work as skilled craftsmen are very handy to know ;)

No weight loss to declare, but I'm eating healthily so that's good enough for now, just need to find time/energy to do more exercise ...

Will post more figures when internet banking more trustworthy & up to date.

    Bye for now

    xx

Yay, Lula's back! :j I was wondering where you were.

Definitely make friends with all the contractors :D My Mum has made lots of contacts through her job and often gets things done in her house for next to nothing.

Mum - 'How much do I owe you?'
Builder bloke - 'Oh, give me a tenner'
Mum - 'I can't give you a tenner!! You've been here for two hours and that wouldn't even cover your materials!'
Builder bloke - 'Well give me £20 then, but no more'

Sometimes I so wish I lived nearer my Mum...:D

I [STRIKE]fell[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]was pushed[/STRIKE] jumped off my exercise wagon too Lula, been bad! And while my eating habits are slowly improving, my energy levels are pathetic! And I know it's lack of exercise! I'll pester you, if you pester me ;).

Everything sounds tickety boo Lula. It's great that 0% has taken the edge off. And that you know you like the pocket money from home job. Though dunno if that makes your decison to continue or quit easier or more difficult! :D Just revel in being able to be fickle about it for the moment though!

I've been a chirpy soul all day today, bouncing along as though nothing could stop me - still not sure where that came from, but sure it'll catch up with me tomorrow and that I will realise I am tired and grumpy :rotfl:.

    Nighty night :)

Being able to say "As long as I clear that CC by the end of March, I'll pretty much have cracked it." is an achievement in itself. The simple fact of not paying interest means each and every penny you earn decreases the debt by the same amount. It will rapidly reduce in size to zero v. v. quickly.

I second that - it may not feel like it all the time but your doing really well. And dont worry about the exercise - your not super woman, you can't do everything perfectly all the time - give yourself credit for all the things you're already doing, like being a mum, debt busting, eating healthly and working 2 jobs - thats an amazing amount to be getting on with by anyones standards!

Talk about lureing us here under false pretences. Who is superwoman? Heres me imagining Lula as a stiletto wearing underwear on the outside of her clothing kida gal who arrives at work raises one arm in a fist diagonally above her head and yells I am f-ing fabulous whilst her barbie pink cape flutters jauntily behind her in some imaginary breeze.

That is without a doubt the most amazing and genius thing I have read in days! You're right moo2moo, how could I have been so misguided as to forget about Lula-Hula's pink cape when I wrote my comment? I take it all back!
