Hey lovelies,
thank you all for your fabulous & supportive comments :A. I feel a bit of fraud as I wasnt really beating myself up, just wanted to make my frustration at myself public so then I have to not let all you guys down as well as myself .
Anyway, first day back at work job was good, planned to be stylish, cool & professional & had the boss in stitches within the first 5 minutes after complaining that my pc didnt work ... turns out I hadnt switched the monitor on. My telling him that I had planned to be so 'together' & professional just made him laugh even more
perhaps I really am just there for entertainment & tea making - who cares, I still get paid :rotfl:.
I have discovered a tiny post office that I can easily stop at on my way home so I paid in the cheque from my dad, the £20 note I found & also £3 worth of coppers to my current account which normally go into my free money account but I want to show willing
The home job work was horrendous as expected but my new schedule of having a meal at 4pm & starting the work later seems to be working. DD didnt ask for anything else to eat & I didnt feel hungry either.
It was also a NSD - number 2 :j
Today was another good day at work ( managed to turn the monitor on all by myself) But scared about the weather forecast & my dwindling fuel tank I stopped off at Tatco to fill up on the way home - £33
, got home & found a card saying postie had tried to deliver a parcel ( my lingerie order I suspect) but that it had been taken back to sorting office. Guess where the sorting office is ? That's right, just opposite the Tatco fuel station where I had just come from, in the town I go to about twice a year .
This is probably Karma's way of telling me that I should not have spent that money on lingerie .
Home job not so hideous today & again, the early meal worked out well. We have about 3 inches of snow here now & it's still falling steadily so I doubt that school will be open or that I'll be going to work. As to whether I have any home job work ... who knows
I love waking up to snow :j. With the fields behind our home & all the trees, it just looks so beautiful & the light it creates is magical.

Hello again,
after I left here last night I trundled over to my bank account & made a payment off CC2. This wont make any difference at all to the total outstanding balances as I have been using the card to do my grocery shopping & also to buy fuel yesterday.
I'm not bonkers, it's a cashback CC & I will be paying off what I've spent each month alongside the usual payments.
I have been fiddling with figures & doing calculations again & it seems that as from January pay day I will be able to pay for everything out of my Work Job wages - including minimum payments on the ccs - so all the wages from Home Job will be used NOT as shopping money as per the last 3 yearsbut as 'paying off the cc's' money. Hopefully this will motivate me to do as much home job work as I can & also stop me from spending it on fripperies as I will pay it straight to the CCs each week.
Had a text fomr the school at 7am to say it would be closed due to the weather. I emailed the boss to say I wouldnt be in & he wasnt going in either. Poor home job driver has been told to get out there & do her job in a very un 4wheel drive van ... NB the boss is cosy at home with her 4wheel drive vehicle. I'm happy to do whatever work is given to me
We've built snowmen, rang my grandmother to make sure she's ok, put some nuts & fruit out for the birds & made some delicious leek & potato soup ( with parsnip & carrots too but :shhh: dont tell DD) & my home work has just arrived so I'd best get on with it
It will be a NSD0 -
:j:j to your day off work! Will you still get paid though or have to make the hours up elsewhere??
Sounds like you've had a good day, the snow's not deep enough to make snowmen in my street, it is in other areas but I'm not going anywhere it's too icy now, I braved town earlier and wish I hadn't!
Sounds like a good idea re the cashback card. That's what Nicnacnoo is doing, but her's is Mr T so she gets points, but I know that wouldn't interest youI'm thinking of getting one myself, but not yet I'm going to wait until I'm debt free, I've too many CC's at the moment!
Brilliant news about work job covering all your bills and minimum payments :j :j
Well done on another NSD :T:T:TInitial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80
Debt now Jan 2021 - £6,208.21
Overpayment pot - £00 -
I'm not too sure about the pay Bowski
I dont really want it to eat into my holiday entitlement so will probably opt to make up the hours by working a couple of fridays  instead.
That's one of the reasons I like to only do 4 days a week as then I do have some degree of flexibility. I always make monday a regular work day though because of the bank holidays
.
I've earned quite well with home job this week ( first week of the year is always busy .. come february there's not much about at all , not at that I am too bothered now) so if I get paid tomorrow (depends on weather) then it will go straight into the bank & then towards CC2.
Have just replied to a thread that I have £11 in my current account :rotfl:sounds quite patheticbut I dont keep anything spare in there other than about £50 to cover any payments I may have forgotten about.
My current account is a transitional account; money doesnt sit in it doing nothing ... that's what savings acounts are for. I'm quite surprised to read that some peeps have loads of money in them & yet have debts too. No point, either pay it towards a debt or if tis for emergencies then earn some interest on it
As long as I can lay my hands on a couple of hundred in cash if needs be then every other penny is going towards the debt from now on ... you heard it here first :eek:0 -

I am thinking of doing exactly the same myself at the moment. As I've got no nights out or anything until 31st Januray I'm thinking of paying all money to my debts as soon as I get it then I can't possibly waste it on anything else. I'm kind of kicking myself I've booked 2 hols this year as without them I think I could have been debt free within 6 months
I love how you've got your work days sortedYou've got your head well and truly screwed on!

Evening all,
Apologies but need a quick moan ;
Just seen a news item about how we are all burning so much gas this week. Well, if the schools were open then many of us would be at work with our heating firmly off during the day . Believe me I'm not impressed that I'm losing money by not working & then having to spend more by having the heating on .
Moving on swiftly ...
I got paid for the home job so immediately skidded to local post office to pay £50 in to current account. Then we attempted getting the car out of the garage. I am the only one out of the 8 garage holders who has attempted this so far ... 3 attempts & we did it :j The roads into town were pretty clear ish but everyone going very slow & sensibly thankfully.
I have to say that the scenery was just stunning. Hardly any traffic, a peaceful silence & an avenue of trees with their bare branches smothered in glistening snow - just breathtakingly beautiful & worth the hazardous journey
Car park was half empty & the shops were too. I dont think the weather has done much for the sales. I returned the too-tight boots to Faith & have had £50 refunded to CC2, then went to collect my new bead from the jewellers - it's lovely
. This little trip earned me £3.48 from Quidco & doing the 2 errands in one trip was good as I only spent £1.10 on car parking. Bought DD a pair of furry boots for only £8 & she's delighted - that spend doesnt count as I had £28 saved up in her clothes fund
.
Thought that while we were out I might as well go collect my fab new lingerie from the sorting office. Turns out that I am an eejit as it clearly states on the card that it's only open from 8.30 to 12.30 & we turned up at 2.30 . To cheer ourselves up we stopped off at the bakery on the way home for a hot sausage roll - another £2.20.
Home again & I topped up the bird feeder in the garden, made sure there was some water for any creatures to drink, chipped the ice off the steps & then made the £50 payment to CC2 & also arranged for redelivery of lingerieShame I didnt order thermals; would be far more practical .
Received an email that the glasses I had wanted before chirstmas were now avaialable. 1 set in the shop for collection tomorrow, or plenty for home delivery at £7.80 . Having taken 4 attempts to get the car back in the garage, there's no way I'm getting it out again any time soon & even less likely to pay £7.80 delivery charge. They can keep their glasses, the ones Dad brought round will do fine thank you
.
Have no plans for tomorrow & as I dont have to get up for school, work or home job then will probably watch the weather on tv from my bed, although the dumb, rude, & anoyingly cliched presenters make me want to throw things at the tv. This is why I never watch daytime tv or work with the general public
See, I am not a nice person :rotfl:0 -
No Lula I hate some of the thick presenters and the cheaply made programmes too!!! Know what you mean about the sales though. Shop has been pretty quiet this week as it's so cold and some folk have no chance of getting out of their street still. Very good for money saving though as I'm just sitting in every night and not painting the town red as normal!!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Hi hun,
Sounds like you had a productive day yesterday despite all the snow and ice.
I too think that the local schools should be open, the one that DS goes to is normally open and it is unusal that they shut it. I think that they gave up with opening it today because it's Friday.
Have a good day.
Tea

It is the usual thing in this country - blame failing infrastructure on people trying to use it. It has been covered ad-nauseum about how little gas-storage we have in this country. That's not the fault of the people who are trying to keep warm - but incompetent people have to divert blame somehow."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
