I've had a text from the school to say it's open tomorrow but children are to arrive between 9.15 & 9.45  That'll be handy for all the parents who start work at 9 then. It was also suggested that children should have suitable footwear & a coat. NO, really ? I had planned flipflops & a crop top

I'm surprised the school didn't point out what it considered to be "suitable". Some parents need it.

Congrats on the wight loss Lula..[/QUOTE

    Thank you

We had one child deliverd to school in sandals last week with a pac a mac over a cardi. Some parents are monumentally thick, though not as thick as the person who arrived in suede leopard print wedges with 4" heels and a micro mini]

Damn, that was my planned work outfit for tomorrow :o maybe I'll go with trousers & boots again instead :D

The best news is that the scales did not lie yesterday, I have indeed lost 4lbs :j& am now feeling motivated to continue cutting down on my calorie intake & also continue doing Just Dance at least 3 times a week.

I will be wearing my favourite jeans this year.

I have been amazed to see how many kids are just wearing sweatshirts here or hoodies, my DS while under his grandpa's care went to school last week wearing a waterproof jacket which although I agree looks cool it's not at all suitable for January in Scotland:rolleyes:. Wee poser, yes I did say he could wear it to school just didn't think to specify I meant not at -10C!!!

I am thinking of buying Just Dance so glad to see it works:D!

Well done Lula, your 4lbs has probably come to me!!! I'm not worrying about weight this month though, going to do it before hols.

I managed to get a heeled boot on today!!! For the 1st time since before Xmas. Not a thin heel mind but I did feel much better. X

    I have managed heels everyday - I just don't do flats :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Hello fabbies,

Skinty - I definitely recommend Just Dance, some of the tunes are terrible but you really do get a good work out. Funny to hear your DS making up his own uniform rules, DD keeps pretending she's lost her tie .

Souk - sorry hun, but I thought you could have those 4lbs , will help keep you warm while tottering to work :D

Shoe Gal - I have to say that although I often wear flats & do own wellies, Ive found that the best foot wear for this weather has been a pair of knee length boots with 3 inch heels I got from Next about 3 years ago :) . They have quite a thick sole which keeps my feet warm & it has a kind of rippled effect which is great for grip. They're just not a very practical colour .

DD1 safely returned to the Berskshire badlands & this time only took one of my saucepans with her, She's under strict instructions not to lose, damage or lend it & I am fairly confident of it coming back in one piece.

I probably sound really mean :o but am now at the stage in life where I've replaced all the second hand & passed on items with fairly decent ish ones & expect them to last me a good few years yet.

I took the more deserted but usually faster route & scared the pants of both DDs by skidding all over the place on the grounds that were 2 of them to push if we got stuck, on the way home I took the more used route as little DD informed me that no way was she getting out to push. My car so I push apparently . Thankfully no pushing needed at all.

Have made another £50 payment to CC2 so now owe £930. If all goes to plan then I'll clear it in a couple of months & then get my teeth into CC1. I'm not ruling out another transfer, but may wait until debt cleared & then look around for a new CC with 0% on purchases for few months.

I will need to get a new cooker, although we can now all open the door using a combination of grill pan handle & oven gloves (DD made some fab cakes this morning :)) & I would like to get a new laptop. 2 of DDs friends got laptops for christmas & although I think she needs one as much as she needs a mobile or tv in her room, there has been a bit of conflict between MSE & Club Penguin in the last few days. We are practising out sharing & taking turns skills ;)

I've set myself a budget of £150 per month for all groceries & household stuff ( washing powder, cleaning stuff, loo rolls, basic toiletries etc) & have already spent £76.77p so need to keep walking the frugal path

We will be fine this week, the only thing we dont have is normal bread - although the now positively ancient loaf is till working for toast so with that, pitta bread & rolls we can manage. The less bread in the house, the better it is for my weight loss.

I'm hoping to lose another 2lb by next sunday ...
