    Hey everyone,

I'm feeling tired but full of beans tonight if that makes sense ;)

No snow & DD remembered her trumpet this morning ( we forget every monday & have to go home to fetch it :o) She also came in from school & after a meal sorted through the decluttered bag & declared 90% of it rubbish :j

Just pirate boss & myself in the office this morning & I got loads done.

Non-pirate boss has handed over one of his clients for me to deal with. He said it's just because they annoy him but it's great for me as it's a confidence boost :D.

I really feel so lucky that I enjoy my job & like the people I work with, I am so focused on it that I dont even think about home job in any capacity other than a means to pay CCs long may it last ... well until about December anyway :rotfl:

I made another £30 payment to CC2 today, bringing the total to a very neat £900. Other than that it's been a NSD - number 10 :D

I received CC1 statement with detail of the recent Balance Transfer ... the latest offer is 0% until January 2011 / I was all set to do another transfer until I realised that this was a very cunning ploy which would see me paying more interest in the long term  Never mind, I'm still paying £20 a month less than I was previously.

Off now to do my exercise, then bath & bed

    xx

    *Yawns*

Just a quick update to keep me on track; NSD number 11 - I'm getting right into the groove now :D

Annoying baby downstairs was screaming from 2.30 until 3.15 this morning  wonders are the parents deaf, lazy or just plain inconsiderate . In the end I resorted to jumping out of bed & stomping about very loudly .. the noise stopped after that .

All good at work although I made the mistake of mentioning last year's internet 'fishing' saga. It was deemed to be very funny but not quite as funny as me playing with Boss's dog this morning & then getting knocked over & laid out flat by it, 5 minutes after walking in. Yes, I am the entertaiment.

I've eaten ok today & did 45 minutes of Just Dance, probably wont manage any tomorrow but will practise walking in my new heels instead before attempting to wear them to work :D
  • Morning Lula,

Hope you managed to get some sleep last night.

well done on the NSD's you certainly have got the hang of them now.

I hope DD enjoyed her weekend away.

    Tea

Hello Tea, you're up so early these days, I am very impressed :D.

Who swapped all the smilies about & where's the confused one gone ??

It's been another bizarre day in Lulaville; new furniture arrived at work including my new desk with lockable drawers (for chocolate stash ;)) & I really didnt get much more than some filing done. Left early & expected to get some home job done only to discover that there was a large power cut happening when I got home .

Realised that not only does the home phone not work due to being cordless but that my mobile batt was about to die too. Bad enough being in the cold & dark with no access to media without added worry of no verbal communication either. Collected DD from school & headed to town to buy a very cheap normal pug in phone & very cheap in-car mobile charger ( which I should have anyway) so total spend of £12.48 ruining my run of NSDs.

Lit some candles & was thankful for a childhood spent in a country where power cuts were daily so I grew up knowing that to only have one source of cooking is rather too trusting. I also have a gas bottle camping thing & a trangia which runs on meths so the chances of us not having a hot meal were remote but a girl does like to have options :rotfl:

5 hours later the power came back on :T so I did manage to get home job done, have a nice warm bath & am now here ... DD thinks all this is sign that she needs a laptop . I think it's a timely reminder of both how lucky we really are in this civilized part of the world & also that we should all stop taking it for granted & be less wasteful & more appreciative.

    G'night
    xx

As I was going out on Saturday night there was a power cut in my street, really bizarre to see it sooo dark.

I was off to my friends place so didn't think anymore of it - this was about 5pm.

I later found out that the power didn't come back on until 8.30pm. So glad I made decision to go out or I'd have been stuck at home in the dark. I have no idea if we have any matches so I'd have been unable to get our gas on to even cook!

I must get a bit more prepared in case this happens again - although I do have a wind-up charger for my phone which I've never used but could press into action!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

I need to persuade someone to climb up to the top pantry shelf to pull down my camping stove and some gas - I just dont trust the electric around here not after it went off for a whole weekend:mad: Although thinking about it I do have a gas ring - its in a box that my virgin tv box sits on - I probably need gas for that too (flip me the twits at MSE Towers have removed the roll eyes smiley:mad:).

Am glad the job is going well but am sorry to hear about noisy neighbours downstairs - cant be fun having a screaming baby wake you up. I get a lot of noise and stink from Mrs Stinky Winky who lives downstairs - when I get noise (her tv can be so loud that it drowns out my own) I get my walking pole and bash the floor with it, I use up a tin of glade air freshener every week because her cat wees and the stink of tom cat wee wafts up through the airing cupboard (all the towels and odd bits of clothing in there now need a wash:mad:) - I use my glade air freshener to spray the airing cupboard and I aim the nozzle towards the back knowing that it will pervade her flat. She shouldnt have a cat anyway - pets are not allowed.

Have fun and it will soon be allottment time.

Lula you are an angel! :A Got my insurance sorted and it was £46 for the year with £30 cashback through Quico with AA. :j:j:jWhat a bargain (esp as Mum gave me £40 towards it!!! She's not walking well at all but we had a lovely day and she was grateful for my help with choosing some clothes and running around to get her toiletries.

    Thanks again XXX

    Hi Souk,

glad that you got some insurance & delicious cashback too, lovely of your mum to help towards it & I bet you both enjoyed your shoping trip.

Horace, to stinky cat lady - funny thing about airing cupboards too, previous neighbour downstairs smoked & the smell wafted up into my airing cupboard, to the the extent that I stopped using it. I suppose an occasionaly screaming baby is not so bad after all.

NSD number 12 here :D, havent earned any extra cash for paying off CCs this week but did top top up the Gas & Electricity fund which now has £220 in it - hopefully overestimated but with all that cold weather & time off work at home ... who knows :undecided

It's payday next friday & I cant wait to make some more payments, put my budget into action & see that balance start to fall.

I have a mere £20 to shop with this week so need to do a meal plan before I go shopping

    Hello again,

my plan of action for today was to take DD to school, do a very detailed & precise meal plan for the week ahead then hit waitrose & charity shop in one fell swoop.

Best laid plans & all that ...

After I've been shopping I dont want to do anything else much at all, especially housework so I decided to do all the chores before I went out & could then return to a nice clean home. A very good plan as it turns out because a charity collection bag appeared so I thought I could fill that p with charity shop clutter & avoid charity shop altogether ;)

By 9 o clock I was deep cleaning & decluttering the bathroom. Got rid of loads of stuff that's probably gone off & came across some Bulgarian mud soap which had me very confused unitl I remembered xbf & his trip to the Bulgarian outback :rotfl:gosh how times have changed :j

Moved on to deep cleaning the kitchen & then washed all floors & hoovered everywhere. A quick cup of coffee then off to waitrose fully determined ot only spend £20. Ahem  £28.75 & half an hour later I emerged with 2 bulging shopping bags & plenty of supplies. I was seduced by tonic water on offer & deals on bleach & frubes & a couple of treats ( which were due the following week but the deal ran out on 26th so no good). Bessfriend is coming for tea this afternoon as they are due to start Guides tonight so I'd promised to buy some icecream & then got carried away & got choc sauce too .

    We dont like waitrose's frankfurters & they're bloomin expensive too so I popped in to the co op on my way home for a pack of branded ones & ended up spending another £7.17 in there :o;
oats for hobnobs to take in to work ( my turn to provide treats next week) very cheap buttery stuff - 48p so got 2 tubs & 7 free bags of mini cheddars ( just dont tell Gordon :shhh:) which I've hidden & also a huge bag of nuts & raisins for my hungry moments.

Ok, so I've gone over my grocery budget by £15 or so pounds ... BUT I am still within my £150 monthly allowance :D. Now just need to work out how to not spend more than £4.61 in the next week.

So, having done all the yucky household chores all I need to do over the weekend is the washing & some batch cooking, both of which I dont mind too much. I really must keep to this routine of throwing stuff out every week & cleaning regularly
