Thanks makeup & you are absolutely right dammit
I knew as soon as I put them on that they werent right. They were £50 & not the £45 I thought & like you, I expect my boots to be hardwearing so you will be very impressed to hear that I have already repacked them & will be returning them to the shop tomorrow
Actually I remembered what sarah said about returning her items if they werent absolutely perfect & as she is my Frugal Guru for next year I have to take note of her words of wisdom.
So, I now have a pair of boots & a pair of shoes for £140 which is much more reasonable. The shoes are so lovely, wish I could post a link but they were in the Faith for less clearance sale. But they are black with a patent T bar & round toe & have leather covered high heels so will have to be very careful with them. I do take care of my shoes & boots & bought some new suede protector for my boots. Still not got over DD1 taking ( after I'd said no to her request to borrow) a pair of my suede boots a few years ago & then helping to push a friends car out of a muddy field in them . They were ruined  & I very nearly gave her up for adoption. I dont 'lend' her anything, it's either a flat NO or I give it to her .
*Takes large swig of gin to banish the memories of lost shoes, jewellery, sunglasses, cd s & ruined clothes & prays that DD has completely different taste *.0 -

Hello to all you fabulous peeps out there :hello:
I've been absent all day as have been very busy putting all my financial affairs in order ( & also playing Just Dance on the Wii  )
My wages actually went into my account today :j so I've made good use of this to get everything sorted :
1 - Paid the Council Tax bill for Jan & Feb - £102.99
2 - Paid £150 to Barclaycard - balance now £4400
3 - Paid £ 35 to Co Op - balance now £1050 but £50 to be credited by Faith when I return the boots
So, I end the year owing £5450
I have also done really well with renewing my breakdown & home insurance though :
Breakdown renewal price form RAC was £40.40
Lula price through AA is £28 & £19 Quidco cashback - already tracked
Contents Insurance renewal price from AIG was £105
Lula price from AA is £35.18 & £30 Quidco cashback - already tracked
Also £1 Quidco cashback for using confused.com - already tracked
So, for breakdown cover & home insurance for the year, I have effectively paid £13.18 :rotfl:
As I am very very sad I have also added up all my money scattered about
£132.42 in my Free Money savings account
£156.85 in my current account
£100 in my ISA
£ 43.90 in household cash
£ 31.20 in personal cash
£ 138.15 held/owed in Quidco account
£ 6.00 held in Paypal account
£ 14.60 in coins savings
My net worth is about £623.12 :rotfl:
My car is worth about £3,500
Half a tank of fuel in it worth about £20
The Wii & all games are worth about £400
TVs & stereos another £700
So, really I have more than I owe which is fine by me ... not that I would sell any of the above
Gotta go dance now to Kids in America - Shoe Gal, like me you probably remeber this
back later
Happy New Year

Had a great start to 2010;
one of my dearest friends called to say she is getting married, I'm so happy for her, she really deserves great happiness :j
I didnt wake up until 10 & thanks to all the 'Just Dancing' last night, I ache all over, which must be sign of muscles having been used so all good.
We went to virginia water lake for a walk which was great - beautiful day here, but so cold it made my nose ache.
On the way home we stopped off to buy breakfast supplies so I spent £7 but havent eaten anything else all day so quite frugal really
I spent £25 on a new trollbead for my bracelet - but this is offset because I received a cheque (gift) for the same value & in fact I earned £3 via Quidco for buying it.
I also won a dress on ebay which was £2.99 but due to having cash in my paypal account it only cost me 99p & earned me another 14p via quidco & more importantly, means I still have £99 left for the clothes challenge
It's lucky I'm going back to work on monday as I'm still very much in the spend spend spend mind set at the moment. It may take while for this frugality to become a way of life.
Will spend tomorrow taking down the tree & decorations & sorting through unwanted clothes, gifts, books etc ready to go to the charity shop.
Alongside being frugal & fabulous I intend to declutter & minimalize my home; get ruthless & rid of anything not used. This will help to prepare me for the major decorating & refurnishing projects I have planned for 2011 when DF.
As well as the hour long walk I've also done 1/2 an hour of dancing so started the health plan ok, must make sure I continue ...0 -
Am most intrigued with just dance?
I most definitely remember Kids in America and it came out when I was going through my choreography stage (ie. myself and friends worked out dances for all the top tunes!!!! ..... and was very jealous of a friend who had a silver sequin mini skirt.....)I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Hi Lula
Sounds like a ab start to the yearSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Today marks the first NSD of the year for me
I've pledged to have 15 every month  so need to plan ahead very carefully.
We took down the tree, all the decorations & stored them all away, then rearranged the furniture & I hoovered everywhere. A fair amount of tidying & decluttering also happend & in the midst of sorting all my paperwork out I discovered a £20 note in an envelope. It was probably there for some reason but I cant remember what
.
We were planning on going to an outdoor production of Twelfth night tomorrow & that £20 would have paid for train faresbut ... it's just too cold to be outdoors while still so we've decided not to go & I'll keep the money for another trip.
I am very used to just writing a list of all the stuff we're running low on & then buying that when I do my weekly shop BUT I've gone through the cupboards & realised that in fact we have enough meals to get through the week without buying much at all. We will be launching a frugal assault on waitrose tomorrow morning so I will be declaring my spends. I have a figure of about £25 in my heads, but we do need loo rolls so if there arent any offers it could be expensive.
I wont have a full months' wages until the end of January so still winging it a bit this month & just paying what I can off the debt each week until a real budget is in place .
I've just finished the last of the tonic water so no booze for me until next weekend, I am a reformed character :rotfl:0
