And me...lucky 7 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The Magnificent (& frugal & fabulous) Seven ride again :j
Good to see you hun & thanks for Gordon & Gordon-recovery kit :A
On to the financial news of the day :
another VSD
Trip to Waitrose costing £55.71 but we now have enough food to last to the end of the year. Fortunately it was only getting busy as we were leaving, so I didnt have to have a tantrum which is always a good thing.
Trip to Hobbycraft & found some bargainous sparkly ribbon stuff for next years christmas cards on a 3 for 2 offer. Also found a fab smelling candle to take to relatives along with choccies for a very bargainous £1.49. total spend was £ 21.44 but DD gave me £5 cash back for her painting by numbers kit.
Next stop the Co Op to top up on Pink Elephant juice - I do not intend to exit this year sober- total spend in there was £16.97.
I didnt get my home work delivery until 2pm, but it did come accompanied by gifts from customers; a bottle of red wine, a bottle of cava, a box of chocs & a huge tin of biccies :T
My cupboards are stuffed to bursting, the borrowers fridge/freezer is packed like a jigsaw & I am actually off food now.
Alongside all this I finally braved the suede bag vs washing machine dye match. It seems to have worked, it hasnt shrunk & I am ecstatic .
I'm not sure how long it will take to dry out & whether or not it will be crispy when it does but for the sake of £4.99 & an unused bag it's worth a try.
I really really dont want to work tomorrowI just want to clean my house & then relaaaaax, but of course I need to pay cash into the bank as work job wages dont go in until the 31st & again it'll only be 3 weeks wages so need every cash penny I can get.
Hmmm, that's just reminded me that the cheque DD received from a relative is still in my account .
I've already put some £2 coins into my pot but rather than pay them into the free money savings account each time I have £20, I'm going to save them all until the end of the year & then use for something fun
Enough rambling :rolleyes:0 -
Good evening to all,
no festive snow here, just rain . Very annoying that is too as I had just hit upon a brilliant way of keeping all my wine cold now that the fridge is full of food. There is a flat roof outside my bedroom window only accessible from there & I had planned to line them all up & sing the 'green bottles' song each time I drank one.
Anway, it's been another day of money & goodies flowing in & out. In = £10 cash from home-job boss in a card + another box of choccies. She usually gives M&S vouchers which was going to boost my clothes challenge budget, but cash works too
. Another 2 bottles of wine from customers & another box of choccies.
Sarahb - I am intent on stockpiling these wine & choccy items in preparation for next years Frugal & Fabulous challenge. they are good choccies - GuyLian & Thorntons, the DDs can much the bogof quality Streets. Not sure about the quality of the wine but hey, it's free so who cares
This afternoon I had a surprise visit from a friend I havent seen in ages & she gave me the most beautiful hand drawn lunar calendar which I am delighted with. I had already sent her a card but hadnt expected to see her so wasnt prepared with a ready wrapped giftbut made sure she left with some wine from the stash
Yes ok, I'm avoiding the big news of the day which is that I have now ordered the boots from Faith. That was a very exciting half hour in my life & I very nearly fell into the old trap of buying something not quite right because it's cheaper ... thankfully by the time my online shopping basket had hit £338  (because it was full of cheaper items that werent quite what I wanted ) I realised that I wouldnt ever be happy with them so just went ahead & ordered the original object of my desire.
That was to be my final flourish of the year but then I saw the advert for Just Dance for the Wii & had to order that too, apparently £19.99 in Sainsburys, but I had £1.86 left in my amazon account so ordered it from there instead - £16.82.
It's been cold frosty & icy today & I eventually decided against trekking to Boots to spend £30 on fragrance to get 500 points. I just had this feeling that if I did go then the only fragrance I wanted would cost about £45 & that would annoy me. I dont like spending over the threshold to get my points .
I have now finished all work until the 4th January :j I am so happy
Must go & watch Russell Howard now - he is so funny :rotfl:0 -

Am stockpiling too:D. More on the chocs than the wine so must get that sorte in the next few days. Don't knock quality street, am currently chomping my way through free box. However, I agree, am keeping the best ones for next year:D

Actually, the truth is :
I have gorged - no other word for it- myself sick of Quality Street & all chocolate at the moment ( reminiscent of last years Baileys Binge _pale_) so my choccie stash should be intact for a while.
Not sure whether you've ever seen / read Matilda ( Roal Dahl) but the line "... much too good for children ..." is often used in this house concerning anything I dont want to share with DD - in jest of course& I feel that this can be applied to the special choccies.
I aim to treat them as medicinal for those hormonal moments so they should last ages ...0 -
Morning to all,
a brief visit to say that I am just about to start a mammoth cleaning & tidying binge, then need to collect DD1, deliver cards, take recycling to tip ... & that I have just paid some more towards clearing the CCs.
£65.71 to Co Op (now to be known as CC2) balance now £ 890
£58.00 to CC1 ( Barclaycard)nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn £ 4550
