    Hiya
I just wanted to say thati'm in full agreement with Souk ad Lula...just because your plans are 'off centre' that doesn't mean they're bad or wrong. People can be very judgemental when you say you don't want a man/husband/kids/to buy a house/want to buy a boat instead:(. i had one friend say that she didn't consider us complete/real grown ups/people until we had children/husband:eek:. I fully disagree some people aren't made for these things and being forced to do it often ends up with unhappy partners or children etc. What's the point?

Enjoy your pj day. I wish i was home having one too, weather is horrid and i've got that monday feeling!

    We're having a Mega Multitasking Monday here today;

Laundry has been done while pondering was in progress.

Hair was coloured while bathroom walls were drying off after being drowned in sugar soap.

Walls are now drying off after the first coat of paint while I catch up online & try to summon up the enthusiasm to do the second coat.

All this while & I'm detoxing too. Nothing but water, herb teas & fruit has passed my lips today. That little pot of free chocolateyness from waitrose, is now sat in the fridge & DD is hoping that my detox goes on for weeks so she can de clutter all the crisps, hobnobs, chocolate etc.

I've had my caffeine headache & have now moved on to severe lathargy. It will be worth it though, as I need to recover myself from under the blobby figure I am developing. I am determined to lose those extra 20lbs before the end of the year, they are making me miserable & I've spent unnecessary money on clothes just to try to look decent.

I need to look different so that I will feel different & more confident when I return to both jobs. It may sound crazy but I am starting to think there may be something in Gok's 24 piece capsule wardrobe

I've donated one of the pairs of ebay shoes to DD having realised that the seller was selling because she couldnt bear to wear them ever again - agony :(.

I'm gearing myself up for a super duper personal clothes challenge for the next 3 weeks. If I get the weight off & pay the debt off completely, then I am going to treat myself to some fabby stuff.

Right, best get on now before I lose all interest :o. My motivation at the moment is being able to deep clean the bathroom when I'm done & then wallow in a bath :).

Yet another NSD in full flow here :).

To the outside world we may appear unbelievably lazy, as we havent left home again but indoors we are very busy. Having finished off the bathroom yesterday & had good long wallow in the bath I had an early night & woke up at 7 this morning feeling very refreshed. I still didnt get up til about 8.30 though as there is just so much carp on tv to watch in the mornings :o.

Mother Nature is playing games with me today & I've now resorted to drying clothes on the airer. This morning I discovered that a large branch had come off the tree during the gales last night so we had to drag that to one end of the garden as it was blocking the entrance. I've hoovered everywhere, wiped down all surfaces & we're now having another strict decluttering session as there's yet another charity bag collection due tomorrow. I'm getting rid of all unnecessary bedlinen now as more than 3 sets each is ridiculous.

I've gone through all the drawers in the living room & cleared those out & the next thing on my hit list is the pc table in the corner. There are too many files & folders, the tower, printer, wires & cables everywhere Grrrrr etc ... too much stuff & it's ruining the feng shui of my home. Need a new desk with cupboards & drawers + laptop or 2 .

It's looking more & more unlikely that I'll get DDs room done in the next week. All the furniture needs to come out as she wants the floorboards done like my room, so ideally she needs to not be here for a few days. I dont want to rush it as I want it to look really nice & I'm hoping it will last her a few years so I'm now thinking on saving up a few hundred pounds & then while she's away on the PGL trip next June I'll ask my lovely interior designer friend to help out. I know she'd love to get her hands on it :D.

Right, I'm off to paint those canvases I acquired from work ... must remember to watch BigBrother final tonight - go Josie .

    Bonsoirs mes belles,

yes, I am snuggled up in a cardi & socks & have just ahd a cup of cocoa. This is so wrong for August, apart from the fact that over the last few years I have noitced that thes seasons seem to have shifted from what our gregorian calendar tells us we should expect.

Anyway, as meanie makeup refuses to condone a £350 splurge on a leather jacket I decide to get some culture instead :D.

Original plan for today was to jump on a train & head to London ... but I'm a fair weather wanderer so we decided to stay local with car instead. First stop was local gallery & museum which has a fab exhibit of childrens illustrators & also some wonderful photographs as well as a fascinating array of info about a now disused mental hospital. I will have to return alone as DD found it a bit disturbing. I've forgotten how much I love museums, exhibitions, arts & having rediscovered that I vow to not let it slip out of my life again.

I thought of you in there makeup - there were lots of handpainted tiles in there by a local artist. Various designs, will pm you more details & am quite happy to get some for you & your new kitchen :D

After that we went to see The Last Airbender at local cinema which we both really enjoyed, I assume that due to the ending there will be sequel & will really look forward to it. I also got DD a new checked shirt that she's been hankering after for a while now & black denim jacket. We avoided a takeaway on the way home which is good as the whole day cost £40 from the holiday budget.

My garage door has now been fixed & the canvases are looking fab - so far just covered in turkish delight pink emulsion. I was going to buy a stencil for them but remember them being about £25 from hobby craft . My new plan is to paint a union jack on one of them using the white & light aqua colour I already have 'in stock' :D. It shouldnt be too hard using masking tape as guidelines & if it goes wrong I can just paint over it again. That's tomorrows activity sorted as DD is very keen to help & I think we might start on some fabric collage type thing too using all the bits & buttons we have.

I also need to shoot to the post box & then restock the fruit & veg supplies. It turns out that the nectarines that DD loves have also given her an immediate allergic reaction :(. Bizarrely, it's only this last lot I bought (Spanish) as she's been eating them for weeks without any symptoms. I dont remember for sure but think the carrots she last reacted to may have also been Spanish .

Right, I'm off to determine which way up is the right way for the union jack :o

    bye for now
    xx

You must be imagining things - the august establishment called the Met Office said it would be the hottest year ever and apparently it has been...

At least I have an excuse for it being cold and rainy...I live oop north... ;)

    Hey guys,

I've been reading the dead dog thread for a few days now, but thanks for posting the link anyway Wol - it's great :D.

Z - you cheeky bloomin norferner - of course I knew that ... hence my wanting to get it the right way up :p.

What I want to know though, is why was it designed like that, rather than just centralized - it offends my even-spacing ocd quirk :o. Love the way that other flags although included, are slapped under the big old red St. George :rotfl:.

    No offence intended :D.

Havent done the painting yet - it's just not that simple. I have however, done clearing out of kitchen cupboards & chucking away stuff no longer needed. I've also done more washing & sent off payslips & tax credit forms to local authority. Was feeling rather flippant & frugal at the time so decide to reuse their letter & just add my notes on the bottom :p.

There was a trip to the charity shop - donating rather than purchasing though ;) followed by a supposedly quick & cheap visit to Waitrose, which actually cost about £25. I really need to reassess & adjust my groceries & household budget, or I'll be forever going over it. Decide against trying other nectarines for Dd & went for grapes, bananas & fatsumos instead :D

Going to visit DD1 later but now need to repot my latest acquisition to the herb window sill, chives & also the spider plants I adopted from Dads house :).
