Just popping in to show you this > http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-1961-split-screen-camper-van-L-K-/110571388464?pt=UK_Campers_Caravans_Motorhomes
It has it's own pull along wardrobe ... that's my kind of camper van. Fab colours too :rotfl:
Will be back later with more sensible news
It was looking good until it came to the 40,000 quid bit..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

very unique...never seen anything like it.
also love the recipe thread BOB0 -
It is a great thread- i play around and tweak it a bit, something for everyone really and you can use what is already in your cupboards to add to it. I have done the food shopping on less, but have overspent a bit this month stocking up on a few things and also with the hols we tend to go through more for some reason.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Hello you gorgeous people,
Taxi - thanks for all your words of encouragement; I'm full of determination & enthusiasm. I just lack discipline, commitment & willpower & I get bored easily.
Museumworker - sorry I didnt reply to you yesterday; I'm fascinated by local history now & have plans to visit all the local museums to build up a picture of the area over the years. The local library had a display on the immediate vicinty & it was amazing to see how just 100 years ago there were horses grazing on the site where the local shops are now. I love old pics & maps too.
Bob - thanks for the link, I believe that's Weezls thread gone public isnt it ? - with a few other MSErs too. It's already saved in my favourites.
Z - I was utterly gob-smacked to see the price, particularly when it doesnt even have cooking facilites. My neighbour has a fantastic van in superb condition, with lowered chassis & an engine that allows it to cruise at 80 & I know that he would sell it to me if I had the cash ... he could visit it every day :rotfl:Only trouble is he's fantatical about cleaning his fleet of vehicles so I bet he'd be knocking on my door every sunday asking why I hadnt started cleaning it yet.
NSD here today & should be another one tomorrow as well. Fuel is getting rather low again though but over the weekend I've opted for out door activities having been so lazy while it was raining.
My detox has gone completely to pot but we did go & run about in Windsor Park today & climb rocks & trees so I've had a bit of exercise. DD has seemed very reluctant to use her shiny new birthday present bike since falling off it & has now admitted that she feels a bit wobbly & that she needs to grow a bit more before she feels totally confident on it again.
I've not manage to come up with a satisfactory title for a new thread & am not sure I can even be bothered to start one. It's cosy here & all you lovely people pop in to visit.
I've completed 3 surveys today & also received the free CD earned by survey points - it's for DDs birthday so I've hidden it for now. Cant believe that Vodafone are issuing refunds for overcharging, they still havent collected the DD from my account that was due on the 19th. Their website is rubbish too - The personal accounts bit hasnt been working properly for weeks  I've now forgotten what the money sat in my old current account is for, which is both embarassing & potentially dangerous.
I'm just itching to get paid so I can start on my new 30 week debt defying budget. Roll on tuesday0 -

Aaaaaaggggghhh this waiting around for wages is torture
I havent even set up the rent standing order yet, because I'm not entirely convinced that my wages will go into the right account.
Yet another cold, windy wet day here & I struggled to get up this morning & am lacking motivation do almost anything other than slouch about.
We dashed to the shops earlier to spend the £2 off a £20 spend voucher & I was delighted to only over spend by 21p to ge thte discount. Sad but true.
Having been inspired by Souks frugal grocery shopping I did my best to emulate her. Sadly, I have a long way to go.
There were plenty of bargains to be had eg 2 for 1 on lettuce ( yes, I should be growing my own) plums ( ditto ) reduced strawberries & bread. No, I havent been anywhere near the allotment & dont really want to. We will have our own stuff next year. *Is determined although does admit that this will probably include buying lots of pretty containers for growing stuff in ( salad baskets, barrels for spuds etc)*. According to my book, a veg plot needs to be at least 10 metres from large tree roots ... that would put it slap bang in the middle of the next door garden which is not practical at all. I'm liking the thought of raised beds & containers.
Ideally I would like my garden to be half the size it is & half of that to be paved. I have been pondering on how to use all those free paving slabs that are (still) stacked up under the tree & am currently woking on a chequerboard pattern for herbs & fruits.
DD has been using the engraving kit to make a sign for her room & if I can just encourage her to make another 320 then we will have got rid of all the wood in the shed.
I need to compile a list of winter things we need to get eg new dressing gowns, slippers, warm socks woolly tights, full length trousers & jumpers/ fleeces for DD, snow shovel & toboggan, winter boots, wellies, gloves & scarves. Once we've got everything, my plan is not to buy any more stuff until the end of March _pale_.
Time for a hot chocolate now0 -
looks like you've had a very thoughtful day today with lots of contemplating0

Is it going to be a cold one do you think? Do you not have stuff from last winter?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

DD has grown since last year so none of her stuff fits. Children do that. A lot. We dont have a snow shovel or toboggan & woolly sock & tights need to be replaced as they wear out. Dont you ever treat yourself to new Y fronts or whatever it is that boys wear these days ?0
