Right ladies,
following on from yesterdays declration of intent to spend, that is exactly what I have done today.
I braced myself & walked past Next & La Senza & straight into the nasty shop where I purchased a pair of warm pyjamas, a very warm & fluffy dressing gown, some warm socks, and a scarf all for £25 & none of it accountable to the Clothes Challenge.
We then legged it out of there & headed off to pleasanter places where we found a really pretty dress for DD for £12 & then a sweet pair of pumps n the sale for £3 :T. I paid for it all out of the Quidco drip Account & as it was bank holiday, we parked in the street for nothingI also got 2 x £2 coins so now have £14.
We came home for lunch & I did a load of washing which went out on the line while we went for a long trek along the river. There were lots of different boats to see & as much as it does look really fun, I was slightly put off the idea of living on one by the quite intense 'river' smell.
Anyway, we came home to nice fresh wind-dried laundry & after dinner & a bath I leapt into my new fluffy dressing gown which I have to admit is very very warm & snuggly & according to DD means I need to be bear hugged by her, a lot.
More news is that I have managed to save a mahoosive £340 on a leather jacket by succesfully winning one for a mere £10 on ebay :j. Technically, it's suede rather than leather, & dark brown rather than black, & - if I'm being really picky - a different style too but I'm hoping it will turn out to be as good as it looks & my craving for a new jacket will have been sated, very cheaply.
I've completed yet another survey for the secret survey peeps & now have £6 sat in my PayPal account just waiting for my next clothes craving to hit.
My determination to be able to slip my jeans on after losing 20lbs is now fully fired up & I have ordered myself a fitness DVD :eek:_pale_:eek:.
I expect Davina to deliver results by the new year.
I'm ready to go with the new budget & the wait until my wages hit my account will probably keep me awake tonight. We're off to the big smoke tomorrow so I'd best check out the train times.
Night night

Thank hon, it really upset me & it's so embarassing having to ask where my wages are but how karmic that I didnt set up the Rent standing order. Apparently the accountants 'forgot' there was a bank holiday so wages will be paid tomorrow.
Wonder how the boss would like it if I showed up for work a day late
Anyway, it was a glorious day today & we spent it in London; wandering around looking at sights, a brief trip into the Natural History Museum (done it enough now), Covent Garden, South Bank etc & hobbled home £79.50 lighter but having had really good day.
I'm going to invest in a railcard though as DD has recited her list of other places she wants to go & it should save us a bit of cash on travel. Will definitely take our own food next time too & just have a coffee & ice cream or similar as eating out takes a lot out of the budget.
DD happy to stay local tomorrow so I'll get on with a few chores & sort all the finances out. The gloomy dark shadow of home-job is now creeping into my subconscious but I am absolutely just goint to get on with it & also going to make myself a countdown chart so I can tick each week off when it's over :rotfl:.
I got 3 x £2 coins today so can pay those in tomorrow & make another dent in the debt.
Off to eat chocolate & flop on the sofa now

Guess what ?
STILL NO WAGES :mad::mad::mad:
Could barely speak as I rang in to work.
Goblin (who deals with accontants) said it's probably my bank  I pointed out that every other direct debit & payment has gone through perfectly smoothly & as my old account still open than I dont really think that's likely.
Goblin then informed me that it's always risky to have direct debits going out on the 1st in case this happens & set them up for the 7th like her ... so, it's my fault ?
She then told me not to 'panic' & that she would make a direct transfer today which 'should' go in my account today or tomorrow at the latest :mad::eek:.
Words cannot express how I feel right now & this is a prime example of why I am finding it difficult to come to terms with letting go of home-job & put all my trust in just one employer for my livelihood0 -
Oh Lula honey that's pants! Hope that you get some wages in ASAP. x0

Oh dear lovey, DON'T let this stop you giving up the home job. It's pants but a blip and you WILL get through and it will be sorted for next month! Hope it goea in tomorrow!!! XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Thanks guys :A
Goblin was good to her word & made a direct transfer into my account :T. It's just horribly embarassing having to call in the first place. It has however, made me realise that not only do I need to build up the regulation 3 months of salary, but that I need to keep enough in my current account to cover any such occurences in the future.
Obviously, none of this would be anywhere near as angst ridden if I wasnt so trying to pay off my debts.
I could have covered all the outgoings if necessary, but it would have meant transferring money over from the savings funds account & also having to pay the cash savings funds in. Not such a huge issue ... but it would have been a pain to then withdraw it all again & reallocate to the various different funds & I would probaly have 'lost' some along the way.
What would be highly amusing would be if tomorrow the accoutants finally pay in too.
On the other hand, the universe brought me my new suede jacket & it is superbly, gorgeously, divinely FAB. Looks brand new, fits perfectly & will improve with age & wear. I love it, so thank you lovely ebay seller, you made my day :j.
Sadly, due to wages delay I wasnt able to do a sneaky Tatco stock up in August so will just have to declare it under September. Wow, did we get some bargains though
All the basic toiletries such as shampoo, toothpaste etc, handwash, washing up liquid on offer, washing powder at half price, voucher for half price loo rolls, kitchen rolls on offer, cereal bars for school packed lunches on offer & I also brought home 10 jars of pasta sauce which were half price.
Total spend on groceries & household items was £61.30. I expect to only be buying bread, meat, dairy & fruit & veg for the rest of the month & no more washing or cleaning products until next year.
I also manged to get a fairly cheap tracksuit for DD for school & a couple of new shirts too. She then saw a pair of jeans she liked that were reduced from £12 to £3 so I got those too. When I checked the receipt, I realised that I hadnt been charged for the jeans - that is karmic justice for all the those annoyances that Tatco have given me.
I didnt manage to pay the coins in so have to do that tomorrow along with chores & washing that didnt happen today. I'm trying to ignore that the grass needs cutting, but should get that done before next monday.
I've been checking out containers for growing veg & have found plenty on Amazon so my plan is to save all survey vouchers towards those now.
5 days til the 30 week countdown kick off .... I am excited :cool:0 -
