It is unfortunate but we cannot save everyone.
Unless the word is spread far and wide by all those who know.0 -

No, ignore this nonsense. For a start it's not a "charge", it's an invoice which can be safely ignored.
By the way Eric. You still haven't answered my question about which PPC you work for.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Eric has earned 2 stars for getting to 15 posts. Pity the posts were not useful to the OP'sI'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

At this risk of being repetitious;
There are real Excess Charge Notices that can be issued under decriminalised parking regulations by councils. If a private company has called one of their documents an Excess Charge Notice that would be Fraud (under Section 2) and a clear breach of Consumer Regulations in my opinion.
Eric is condoning and supporting fraud and the breaching of consumer regulations.0 -

To paraphrase Eric and the above quote
"""You should ignore the above rubbish ""I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Oh I totally agree. One should always pay charges one has legitimately incurred.
Not sure what that has to do with make-belief parking invoices though. Perhaps you meant to post on another board?If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

This is nothing to do with the council. It's a private parking ticket, so you can safely ignore any correspondence from the company and do not contact them.
If you get threatening letters, don't worry. They don't mean anything and they won't lead to anything such as black mark on your credit records. Don't forget that private parking companies are just private citizens with no more power than you or me. We are here to help you if you want any more reassurance.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Presumably they are asking for £30 of YOUR money. This particular company is one of many who try this scam, so don't cave in when they send the usual threatening mails. There is no chance they would ever take you to court as their invoice is a made up charge and a judge would just throw the case out. They will eventually give up and try to extract money from someone else who is less informed. Best advice is to ignore, do not contact them and file all their standard letters. And don't forget to spread the word about this scam, tell everyone, friends, relatives, work colleagues, NOT to pay PPCs.0
