If the "you" in that sentence refers to me, then you have just supported the point made in the previous post, para 2.
Posters can read and follow the sequence. If somethings off topic, fine to say so and come back on topic. If you think you are replying to something 40+ posts ago but choose not to bring that forward or make reference to it, then you are deemed to have relpied to the last post. Big words won't change that.
Anyway back to the thread. Don't pay the fine.
Quod erat demonstrandum.
They are not fines.
To persist in calling them so for your own reasons whatever they may be only serves to mislead our casual readers. This is a place where we help each other and I have to say that your persistent use of the misnomer does not serve to assist anyone.
Not paying something which does not exist is the only possible outcome. As there is no fine it is impossible to pay the fine. Advice to not pay something which does not exist is at the very best tautological.
Please regard the above statement as a life-line to be used to haul out of the logical and semantic abyss. That is the intention however ill-achieved it proves to be.0 -
Oh the irony of this flaming for me going off topic, yet on it goes. Fine to have your opinion of what is correct, don't expect others' to share it. I'm sure the casual poster will figure out. Logic and sematics serve to clarify a point you fail to acknowledge. Big words don't change this.Quod erat demonstrandum.

HA! Just like to point out something which made me smile today.......
Arrived at tescos (!!!!ing of rain
) to find three drivers sat in disabled bays not displaying BB, I went into see Jim (security guy I complain to every time im there, hes got a photocopy of my complaint and I just sign n have it passed to manager everytime) He went out and asked them to move, one woman did and apologised. The other two, an 50ish guy and a young guy stayed put.
I went on to get my shopping, and on returning outside found the traffics blocking me in....because they were having words with the drivers of the cars, for ignoring the tesco employees request to leave the premises.
I then spoke to the police who told me, they cannot come onto private land and inforce rules, but if tesco employees ask someone to move and they dont, they can phone the police to remove them.
And as for saving themselves in the rain, the younger guy had to stand outside being pointed out how illegal his tinted lights were, and how bald his back tyres where....and then his car got seized?!?! I think he had no insurance.....
So warning, unless u want the police envolved - dont park in disabled bays unless u need them, tescos are taking notice...and so will other private carparks
:D
(still believe this guy was within his rights to park there tho!)
Yes im disabled....yes I can do things you cant....but you can do things I cant so were equal!

No, my mum (non driver) does tho. As well as providing more room around the vehicle, the spaces are also to provide closer access to facilities. Not so silly question; as someone with a BB you will appreciate how difficult it can be to access places able bodied take for granted. There can be benefit gained without getting out of the vehicle. Eg parking on sea front to to eat lunch (able bodied people take this for granted and sit on a wall/bench etc). Not the same as someone else nipping for a pizza. If they do explain how to use BB (I don't know, I wasn't there) when you get it, I accept your point may be correct. Just asking what the written guidance says and how that could be interpreted, oh, I've never used it for anyone elses benefit.
Yes ive noticed on the beach front that people dont take much notice with the disabled bays!
As a 23 year old woman, in a nice car with kid in the back - I reguarly get growled at when pulling into a disabled space to eat some lunch, before heading for a walk on the beach.
Old people assume, I cant be disabled because im young, I have a nice car, I have a baby etc etc...and it really annoys me! especially when THEY have no badge!
I wouldnt park in a disabled space unless I was getting out tho, so wouldnt park at that part of the beach if I was just eating my lunch then leaving

re the child/parent spaces...i understand you may need more room at sides, but why do they have to be near the door of building?? Perhaps if they were at other end of carpark, the little obese darlings might lose some weight walking to shop!!!TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0

They probably know that the families don't want to walk all their kids across the car park because they can't control them, and will just park nearer the shop and end up smashing everyone elses doors in when their idiotic children swing open the massive door of the BMW X5.Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!0 -

What point have I failed to acknowledge ?
The fact, not opinion, that they are not fines is absolutely germane and it is essential that this is distinguished.
I make no apologies for my use of words. I have purposely avoided legal terms which by their nature mislead the untrained general reader. However, calling them fines is a bridge to far. Failure to rebut is an admission and the hugely incorrect use of 'fines' needs to be corrected.
To fine someone to is to impose a pecuniary punishment. To sentence a person convicted of an offense to pay a penalty in money.
As I said in simpler language some time ago, whether decriminalised Council PCNs or pipe-dream Private Parking Company tickets they are most certainly not fines.0 -

Excuse me if Iv'e missed something. Have to admit, not read the full thread, but, how do you have a disabled/mobility badge if you can regularly take the youngster out for dinner and a walk on the beach. Who helps get junior out of the car? Lifting ababy in and out of a child seat in a car is a !!!!!! for a disabled person
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
