PCN *I parked in a disabled space, should i pay or am i a scumbag edition*

They are in the situation described by Minxy_Bella which is what you were referring to when you promulgated this wanton inexactitude.:rolleyes2
My first post was in response to davidhwdn and quoted the relevant post.
One last time for the extremely and possibly willfully hard of reading.
These are not fines. Whether a valid council PCN or a Private Parking Company piece of ephemera they are not fines.
As predicted moral outrage has been allowed, or employed, to obfuscate facts and the law. I would deprecate such advocacy.0 -
Loving this thread!!! Unfortunately many people here seem to be unable to separate the law from what is basically a request. The law applies on the public highway, a request is what any lines/markings etc on private land are. This is why a car has to be taxed when on the public highway and not when on private land, because the law in relation to MOT/Tax/Insurance does not apply on private land. This is why they cannot prosecute you for not having these on private land (although legally you have to make a SORN I believe..... but is this enforceable if you haven't done it and you keep your vehicle off road??? Another thread no doubt!)
This is why the rules on blue badges don't apply on private land, eg Tesco's car park. End of.
Have we got it now?0 -
Scumbag edition, you asked0

Your first post may well have been in response to davidhwdn. In case you are hard of reading, the thread has moved on.My first post was in response to davidhwdn and quoted the relevant post.

Just like a normal conversation, the thread follows the sequence of posts unless a quote is brought forward. In this case #53 was quoting minxy_bella and in that situation we ARE debating fines. Your posts 54 & 56 were in response to my 53 and 55 so in the absence of a quote brought forward, you too were referring to the same posts, not something 40 posts and 2 days earlier..
You promulgate obfuscation. Take your own advice and read the posts that you respond to.0 -
If you are debating fines then you are debating something that has nothing at all to do with this thread.
For the very last time for the extremely and possibly willfully hard of reading.
These are not fines. Whether a valid council PCN or a Private Parking Company piece of ephemera they are not fines.
As predicted moral outrage has been allowed, or employed, to obfuscate facts and the law. I still deprecate such advocacy.
I will save people having to read through prior posts. Quoting numbers rather than actual text being somewhat lacking in detail and facts I prefer the facts.
Post 53
"So if the medication was for the incapacitated person but the driver collected the medication who benefitted from the trip in Minxy's post"
to which my reply is in post 54
"And of what possible relevance could that be ?
Forgive me for answering my own question. It is of no relevance at all. It is irrelevant."
So just that single point rebutted and no mention of fines.
but in post 55 you cannot resist and come up with
"It's relevant if it comes to determining whether or not to issue a fine. "
It is you not we who are discussing fines so I promptly corrected you with post 56.
"For goodness sake, they are not fines.
Please stop promulgating such wanton inexactitudes."
And here I am still having to correct you.
I have responded conversationally in every instance Moreover I have done so accurately, with due brevity and without misleading anyone at all. This is done in the furtherance of helping people by being informative, accurate and keeping the thread on the actual relevant issues rather than make believe irrelevances.0 -
Sorry to join in the detraction from the rather easy and now clear ppc situation but --Minxy_Bella wrote: »A few months ago, I was really incapacitated by labyrinthitis and couldn't stand, let alone walk or drive
Holder of a BB and car owner (or not) needs to be driven to and from any particular location for whatever reason. Try thinking; Clarification needed on medication, simple reasons of reassurance, signature required (in other situations), need to speak directly/privately with someone, etc.Erm... in the case of you being lectured for parking whilst your (able bodied?) partner nipped into the shop... the warden was absolutely right.
The blue badge is for YOUR convenience, not your partner's. Leaving the disabled person in the car whilst an able bodied helper nips off is just as bad as an able bodied person parking in a disabled spot. If it were you going into the pharmacy then you do have a right to use the parking place. .
How is the trip not for her benefit?Specifically: "If you have a badge, it must only be used for your benefit. If a trip is for someone else and you are a passenger and staying in the car, you cannot use the badge to let them benefit from free parking."
Eh? So if she had been more able/less debilitated then it would have been ok in comparison? You really don’t make sense. If it were you going into the pharmacy then you do have a right to use the parking place. .0 -

So i go to Tescos early sunday morning, must have been about 15 free disabled spaces free and i park in one of them (wrong and naughty i know but i justified it to myself knowing i would never do it under normal circumstances and the likelyhood of a disabled person actually being at loss due to my actions). Only bought a CD so was in there 5 minutes, on my return i had received a ticket. (town and city parking ltd) When i challenged the attendant he was quiet remorseful and claimed if he'd have seen me 'on sticks' he would not have issued me a ticket. His advise was to ignore the ticket as they will not take me to court as it would cost them too much!!!
So what do i do? I mean it is really a fair cop as i parked in a disabled space and am not disabled but if i can get away without paying then in i will.
as said, get a letter from doc/hospital show it to the council, and also keep it handy so u can park in the bays until you heal. Yes they are reserved for disabled people (as in long term disabled like myself) but you are also allowed to use the spaces with a letter from your gp or doctor stating so!! even pregnant women can.
hope ur legs heals soon, I know how painful this is!Yes im disabled....yes I can do things you cant....but you can do things I cant so were equal!

I have a blue badge and it's people like you who (will only be 5 minutes)that take up vital spaces, pay your fine and park somewhere else
oh dont be so bloody stupid. I have a badge and am I not allowed to take 5 minutes?
Its people who arnt really disabled, in pain, find walking distances difficult etc that you should be moaning at.
Im in a wheelchair, but I wouldnt have a go at a heavily pregnant woman using a space, or someone whos sprained there ankle on crutches - especially since they arnt used to there disability....even if temp
get a lifeYes im disabled....yes I can do things you cant....but you can do things I cant so were equal!

* takes cover *
Its so true....sadly! Especially since most people automatically get one after 60 years of age....
im only 23 and I get growled at for pulling into a parking space by posh grannies strutting in the highheels...until I get my wheelchair out - YES I ACTUALLY HAVE PROBLEMS WALKING!!!Yes im disabled....yes I can do things you cant....but you can do things I cant so were equal!

Buying a CD wasnt a priority that day was it, now really.
Whilst I sympathise with your condition, please do not do it again.
So people should only use spaces for big shops? and priorities? NO spaces are there to let disabled people have the same choices in life as non-disabled.
Dont listen to them, you are entitled to park in a space if you have a temp medical condition which restricts your mobility i.e. broken legs, using cruthces, pregnancy problems - a doctor can give you a letter for this, and you can display it on the dash to be seen or hand it over if you are issued a ticket - ITS THE LAW
anyone who looks down at you about this is merely jealous your disability is only temp (me included a$$hole
) Yes im disabled....yes I can do things you cant....but you can do things I cant so were equal!
