Hmm... I will have to look in my Employee Handbook to see what is the exact situation, and I will do so in a little while, but I currently have more pressing matters to hand...
Pickle is being very naughty and spending too much time on here talking to people when she should be applying for jobs. If my green light is on and I'm not here, PM me to shout at me and tell me to SORT OUT MY CV AND APPLY FOR JOBS!
*Pickle scoots out of thread*

Ouch - no need for you all to shout so loudly!
Right, several things:
1) BB bonus has died (and just as they put the limit back down to £20!) Pity, but can't complain due to the amount of money I earned from it. I now need another online bingo site to harass.
2) Rang up about those courses and it seems that they are on a Saturday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Given that I am still working in retail (for the minute), I think it would be unwise to take the afternoon course as it means that I would be unable to do any sort of shift on a Saturday, which would heartily diplease the boss. If I do the morning one, I could still be in for a late shift, so I think that's the wisest (and also most expensive as it's the nail course) plan for now.
3) Already finding this year's diary highly useful as it means that I'm very organised. As I had written it down, I realised that all my books were due back to the library today, meaning that I could renew them and avoid late fines. :T
4) Just about to go to bank to put in £5 for parking which I paid for on my card on Saturday. I've also emptied my little copper pot, which contains £2.06 so that small amount can also go in: that's £2.06 I'm no longer paying interest on when it goes off my CC.
That's it for now. In work at 4, have errands to run beforehand, need speak to boss about making sure I can get every Saturday morning off as I can't miss any lessons else I only get an attendance certificate rather than a useable qualification, and here's to being organised. :T
EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I have been giving my poor liver some thought at the end of the Christmas period. I've decided it needs some TLC. I've hardly been going out painting the town red, but I am aware that 1 +1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 ad infinitum actually all adds up, in the same way that constantly paying £1 off my debts does. As a result I have decided cut alcohol out of my life for one whole month, starting today (except the 29th when I have to go out for a birthday party and there is no conceivable way I can get out of drinking as it's wth a bunch of hardcorers). I will therefore add one extra day to the end of my no drinking period and declare the 5th February as the next time I can sip wine guilt-free, including that unopened bottle of red sat on my desk with all my other as-yet unused Christmas presents. (Why oh why did I have to chose the longest month to do this in?!)Please call me 'Pickle'

Hmm...I've just checked my online banking and I'm not quite sure how it has happened but my CC balance has gone down from £980.19 to £972.25. I'm not complaining that it has reduced, but I thought I knew what was going on to the penny so it's making me wonder what else I've missed. In my defence there have been myriad small payments (BB wins, anything else I could manage) working their way onto it, so I can see how I might have not noticed a few pounds here or there, but I think I might need pay a little more attention to the finer workings of the account/CC. :rolleyes:Please call me 'Pickle'

In the past I'd have agreed with you, but I think my attitudes to booze are starting to change. For example, this was the first Christmas where I thought more about not getting tanked up as it would make me ill/have a sore stomach etc. than the possibilities of raucous partying.
For me I think it's an age thing - we mid to late 20 somethings have to watch our intake0 -
