Today was relatively expensive: £4.90 spent on lunch, £10 eating out for dinner, £5 parking and about £7 at the pub. Lots of socialising and a silly spend on lunch as I woke up really late due to sleep deprivation this past few days (look at the time I'm posting this!) so I didn't make anything. Having said that, it was really lush and I was feeling horrible due to having a cold so it just about got me through the day as I really, really resented being in work today.

Day off tomorrow so up, wash hair, apply for jobs and work experience and sort my life out that little bit more...(and if I'm very good, I can watch the Sky+'ed Dr Who Christmas/New Year specials! ;)

P.S. It turns out that the last Bank Holiday I worked isn't getting paid at time-and-a-half. How nice of them to let us know in advance!

sorry to hear that they are being crap about the pay. but can they do that? isn't it changing your terms and conditions? I would check what your contract says

    good luck with 2010

    First of all HNY !
Just been catching up with your MSE antics. I am missing a gene, budgeting for me just doesn't click, I 'm determind to retrain myself. Ruby's spending diary has been suggested to me many times, I'm just rubbush at it, but need to get a grip.
Well done on the BB wins, I think I earnt just over £100 in my month.
As for the job me too, got to get out, for my own sanity. Here's to smaller debts and bigger pay cheques !

One blip doesn't make a difference but lots of blips does hehe.

It's good that you're looking for a new job, it sounds like they aren't very good where you are now. I agree with chevalier, I think it's illegal to change the terms of your pay, but then again time and half might be a gesture by them for the bank holiday and they might not have any legal obligation to pay you that. I'd talk to payroll if I were you.

Hmm... I will have to look in my Employee Handbook to see what is the exact situation, and I will do so in a little while, but I currently have more pressing matters to hand...

Pickle is being very naughty and spending too much time on here talking to people when she should be applying for jobs. If my green light is on and I'm not here, PM me to shout at me and tell me to SORT OUT MY CV AND APPLY FOR JOBS!
