Morning everyone :hello:
Just updating. Its proving to be a bit of an expensive month - although OH sorted my car for me costing us the princely sum of ZERO tra la laaa.
Am going away for a week - leaving the family behind:eek: and taking a group over to the country we used to live in - I'm not saying where it is - but suffice it to say that I am spending a LOT of money buying things for people over there, because I know they cannot get the things themselves. Am very happy to do it - but I must admit its a bit harder this year, knowing that we need to be saving, not spending!
Anyway - when I compare my situation to others, I have NOTHING to complain about.
Right - where was I...oooh yes - need to stick to the plan:
Oct wages: Try and pay mum SOMETHING back - even if its £100
Nov : Pay bank of mum at least £400 of the £700 we still owe her
Dec: Christmas spending (but not too much) and clear what we owe mum
Jan onwards - save EVERYTHING I EARN, live on OH's wage. Hmm - doable but a challenge - especially if something goes wrong with car(s)/house etc.
Now - I need someone to take me in hand and give me an idiots guide to selling stuff on E-bay. Laura - what kind of stuff sells well??
Have a good day all

Hmmm, books- not so much. Amazon or green metropolis tend to be better for that because people who are looking for books go specifically there.
Clothes which are good quality and have a 'name' to 'em usually sell ok. Kids clothes in good condition usually do well, I think, again provided in good condition, good quality, branded. Very few people will buy Primarni stuff on Ebay for more than you get it in Primark!
Have a look at what you think you may sell. Search for it on Ebay, see how many other items are for sale. Look down the menu on the left and find the 'Completed Listings' link. Click on that and see what items like yours have sold for, or if they haven't sold at all. Takes a bit of research but you can find out what's a good price to price something at, and if it is likely to sell at that price.
Makes sense?I feel like I've waffled nonsense!

Anyway - big day today - sending off the cheque to CLEAR the final CC. V pleased and wish I had got my bum in gear earlier. never mind:o
BUT BUT BUT I was in town yesterday and walking past Waterstones I saw the new terry Pratchett book - I just physically CANNOT walk past a new TP book without buying it:o It was calling my name.
I have bough OH TP book for his birthday (1st Nov) then I get to read it afterwards0 -
Hola dudes
Well i am off for a week so I will update the diary when I get back - unlikely I'll spend anything that I haven't budgetted for - because I HATE using plastic abroad - I am ridiculously paranoid about identity fraud:rolleyes:

Welcome back to the (until now) chilled out Rupe34 diary.
BUT NO MORE!!!
Now things need to get serious - I have about 9 months in which to save A MINIMUM of £6k:eek:.
The pay packet which has just come in needs to pay for - Rugrat no1's birthday, the Christmas present we just brought the rugrats to share (shhhh - its a wii with games - they will be over the moon with it!) and pay some back to mum (who keeps getting put to the back of the queue, because she doesn't want the money back).
Today I went and got my photos developed from being away - and I saw a BEAUTIFUL jade coloured jacket. It was £50 and made me look thin(!) and was warm. I got as far as the queue to pay for it - then I thought 'what am I doing?!'. Eldest rugrat needs a winter coat, and we have all of the above to pay for. So it got put back QUICKLY before I could weaken;)
I also need to get to grips with e-baying (and seeing if there is anything worth trying to sell). Hmmm....Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Well done resisting the jacket Rupe! I'd have bought it, but then again, I don't have rugrats to feed and clothe!
£6K in 9 months, no problem, sure you will do it or at least get most of it by then, good luck x0 -

Right - I am putting on my 'get a grip' hat ready to start the week...
Last week I paid mum back £200 (:T to me- at long last!) so the bank of mum is now owed £500.
I am trying to think about Christmas presents for people - but really all I can think about is sleep. This weekend, since friday evening, if I have sat down I have fallen asleep. Admittedly its hard to spend money when comatose, but it didn't make for a particularly fun weekend for the rest of the family!
Mum reckons I have SAD (seasonal affective disorder) - but I just think I've been overdoing things a bit. And I'm probably more stressed than I realise about the whole college/massive amount of money to save issue.
BUT - at the weekend I am going to an open day for said college - and if I like the look of the whole place, I shall be applying asap. :jScary but exciting at the same time.
BTW on the coat front - I managed to buy eldest rugrat a winter coat, and a consolation purple jacket for me (which was like the jade one) for the same amount of money that the other jacket would have been. :T:T That felt REALLY good - chuffed with my little self.Onward and upward - with the odd step to the side

OK - November is proving to be an expensive month. Hoover has broken (although it has given sterling years of service!), two of the rugrats need new school uniform (WHY do they grow? WHY WHY?) and early CHristmas pressie splurge needs paying for.
Also - could have kicked myself yesterday - ended up buying lunch in Co-op - which I didn't even like. £7 for a lunch I didn't like (brought enough for today as well, so I need to pep it up a bit).
This is what comes of not getting enough sleep so I can't think properly in the mornings.

Two coats for the price of one, well done Rupe!
Had to laugh about not spending whilst being comatose, I do most of my spending in my sleep - usually I've always just won the lottery though, ha!
Have a good day too x0
