we have just had virgin broadband/telephone & tv installed for £25 per month, is he likely to take this of us? my wife works from home therefore needs web access and my daughter needs access for her homework. we did this change from sky & bt to save a massive £57 per month. will this go in our favour? The OR is unlikely to be aware of which date you had Virgin installed, you are generally allowed £60 in total for phone/mobile/internet. I wouldn't even mention that tv is included in the package deal unless specifically asked. And its definitely a good idea to mention if questioned that the internet is necessary for work and homework. The worst that could happen is that the OR will tell you to pay for that from any excess income after an IPA but this is not very likely as they will allow some payment towards phone/mobile at least.

my wifes car is also an issue, its on a bubble finance arrangement with 12 months left to run she really needs a car for work,school run and nursery, so will they take it off her? (its worth about £3000). You would have to get your wife to check the terms of her finance agreement as it may have something in it which will allow them to terminate the agreement if your wife has gone bankrupt and ask for the car to be returned, it depends on the type of agreement really. At the end of the term will your wife completely own the car or have to make a large final payment? The OR may not allow for the finance payments on your SOA which again would mean the finance payments would have to be paid from any surplus income after an IPA.

Hope this clears things up a little and helps a bit.

Had a letter from a company offering to reverse my bankruptcy and 'save' me from the effects of it......... with no 'up front' fee. Sounds dodgy to me! Anyway, after all the trouble I went through to accept BR I'm not going to pay to have it reversed! Who are these companies?

Hi roger and welcom to the board. At the bottom of the board you should see a new threat tab, often better to press that to start your own as your post may be lost.

Bankruptcy is not a criminal offence.
Read through some of the posts on the board, many people feel like you do now so your feelings are completely normal. The majority of upset people have during the process of BR is brought on my themselves. The court experience although not pleasant is not unpleasent either, the staff are kind and will put you at ease.
If you have any questions relating to anything in specific just ask.
