Right I've had a word with myself and I must start posting on here again!
So an update on the last 2 months.....
I had DD's b'day which cost me a small fortune!
My housing benefit has gone up :j and I think I'm going to qualify for council tax benefit. This will make a huge difference to my SOA so as soon as I hear back about my Council tax I will post a new SOA.
I've still not had a penny in child maintenance but I've got myself a case worker now and she's totally human, seems to be understanding and actually treats me like another human being... I know I didn't think it was possible from them either! Ok her being nice might not get me any money but it makes a huge difference on the stress levels!!
I've been really really naughty and paid for 2 Green Day tickets on a credit card. The justification being that erm...... erm...... oh yeah DD didn't come last time and she really wants to go. And I really want to go. And it's an xmas present for DD
I've been to the doctors today and been prescribed them weightloss tablets (the horrid ones that don't like you eating fat:eek:) Anyways I've never wanted to take tablets I've wanted to lose weight myself but I'm desperate and for the sake of my DD/health/confidence/self asteem I have decided I'm going to give them a go. I'm going to pick them up when I've finished here and I'm starting them tomorrow. I've tried starting diets on a monday for the last 11 years so going for something different.
ALL money pots are empty (due to DD's b'day and a £136 phone bill:eek:). So I'm back to square one...
I'm hoping by posting here that I'll be full of determination again.
I've joined taylo's itemizer challenge and the Green Day ticket is the first item I'm paying off :money:
I have soooooooooooo many expensive things planned for 2010 and I really want to get through it without increasing my debt. I'm not planning anything for 2011 so that when July comes around I will hopefully be celebrating my 30th birthday debt free and alot lighter. That's my plan anyways...wish me luck
Just got to go and pick my sister up then I shall be back with a weekend list to kick start everythingInitial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80
Debt now Jan 2021 - £6,208.21

Right a weekend list....
1) find out how much I owe on HFC
2) Tidy DD's bedroom
3) Put DD's b'day presents away
4) Move sofa back to this room again
5) Write a shopping list
I know it doesn't look like much but tidying DD's will probably take a whole day. I will start tomorrow as tonight I'm going to Lancaster with my sister and a couple of friends for a night out. I'm driving so it's not going to cost me much
Hope you all have a lovely weekend what ever you get upto!Initial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80

Good to hear all your news on your own diary my lovely & you sound very fired up & positive
Great news on having a sympathetic caseworker & lets hope she gets some cash for you too.
Have Greenday Tickets envy but you deserve to have a treat so enjoy
Well done on getting those tablets to help with the weight loss. I f they're the ones I think they are ... be aware that any fat you consume will rush through your system at top speed . I really hope it works for you :A
Good luck with doing your DDs room ... you know the trauma I went through doing mines  One of those charity bag collecters came round today & they had the last of her unwanted stuff :T
Will now nag you to keep on updating your diary

Hurrah!! I'm glad you're posting again.
That all sounds like a great plan and with the green day tickets you can work it into your budget and pay it off as you go and I agree, you totally deserve a treat and something to look forward to.
When is the gig?I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Bowski, how's it going? Green Day tickets were about £90ish weren't they? Well, the Easyjet flight was £96.50 and I have almost got rid of that and hardly took anytime at all, it is amazing how quickly little bits here and there add up! Good luck with it, I shall try to keep checking up on you and cheering you on!Paying it off one debt at a time!B&Q £12.40 / £93.110

Hi Bowski
How's your weekend been?Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Evening everyone....thanks for all your posts
Well I didn't do too well on the weekend list. I actually didn't do 1 thing on it. However in order to avoid cleaning/tidying the two rooms that needed doing I have managed to do most other things, including tidying my own room....that doesn't hapen often!!! I've done all my ironing, cleaned the hamster's cage, hoovered, tidied living room and kitchen. I will also do the bathroom when I go up to bed as it only takes me 2 mins. It's my favourite room to clean (Kind of- if it wasn't for the loo!)
I didn't start taking my tablets until today but so far so goodTaking them is definitely making me think about what I eat but it's just if I can keep it up. I read in the leaflet that if you don't have fat in your meal then you don't need to take it but I'm just going to keep taking them 3 times a day else I'll just start skipping them when I wanna eat something fatty
I'm having stupid thoughts so feel free to talk me out of it but... I was thinking of maybe selling my Green Day ticketsbut...
- DD doesn't know I've got them yet so I wouldn't be letting her down. Yes she wants to go and watch them but we all want things we can't have. Plus I did offer to take her last time and she declined
- I CANNOT afford it. It's a couple of weeks after my Dad's wedding and a couple of weeks before a Hen weekend I've got planned.
- I've seen them and as much as I'd LOVE to see them again I'm lucky enough to have seen them once. (if only it worked like that )
- I may deserve a treat but I am already treating myself to a holiday with the girls and a family holiday.
I wasn't too bothered as I can get a bus to work but then I remembered I'm meant to be driving to Manchester on Wednesday to see Scouting For Girls. Although we can always hire a car it's just another expense none of us going can really afford
I don't know what to do with myself at the moment re money. I don't think I've ever been so skint. I've booked to get my hair dyed and cut on Wednesday and at the moment I have no idea atall where the money's going to come from. I'm not sure how much it's going to cost but I'm thinking around the £60 mark. I know that's alot of money but it's worth every penny. Grey is NOT a good look on a 28 year old and I've not had it dyed since I went to Benidorm in March. It's been a very long time since I've had it cut too.
These last few weeks I don't know what I'd have done if it wasn't for work and my mam. With working alot I ate there and some days brought leftovers home for me and DD. And my Mam's bought me food for 2 weeks plus a new quilt after my niece threw up on my other. And she also bought me a dress and shoes. She also said if I can find clothes for DD she will buy her some. God I feel ashamed typing that out
Infact.... OH MY F****** GOD!! I cannot believe I've just admitted I'm paying £60 to get my hair done and going to a gig when I can barely afford to feed/clothe DD.....
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Oh F**K ...I'm off to have a word with myself about my parenting skills :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Please don't be so hard on yourself, you are doing a fantastic job :A
Have a good think, there is time to save to pay off the Green Day tickets, but maybe put your hair off for a couple of weeks - or ask somebody to pay for it as a Christmas pressieSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Thanks Shoe Gal:A I really don't feel like I'm doing a fantastic job though
hmmmm... yes there's time to pay off the tickets but I have so much booked next year that I will not be paying any debts just trying to get through the year without increasing it. I'm going to have a good think anyways, gig's not until June.
Christmas presents will just be clothes this year as it's what I desprately need.
May hold off gettin hair dyed but will definitely need to have it cut.
Sorry to sound so negative.... it's not meant to be that way.
Well I've gotta go jump in the shower before work...
Hope you have a good day Shoe GalInitial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80
