    Morning everyone.

I'm at home again today. I've rang in work sick. I've got a stonking headache, feel really off it and achy. I'm supposed to be at the speech therapy as well today but i've cancelled it.

I think i overdid it yesterday. I am trying to take it easier, but teaching is just one of them jobs where you can't. I think i need to get back to the drs as my energy levels are not good, even taking the pregnancy into account.

Normally i would have forced myself into work, but why should i make myself really ill by the weekend if i don't take it easier.

plan is to still do a bit of school work, but do it very slowly. Ie. short bursts, and then breaks. i have got to get fred the cat back up to the vets this evening. 2 weeks after the accident, he is still limping badly, and they said he might need more xrays to see if there is an undetected problem. He is a lot more active and chasing his brother, but not right. The other cat, ginger, is in my bad books this morning as he has pulled the big patio door curtain down twice this morning. DH fixed it before work, but its too heavy for me. I had to lock him in the kitchen for a bit to calm him down.

I've also got to send some of the Sat marking to my supervisor today, so i'd best get on with that.

i'll also get the towels through the WM and on the line. Take advantage of the good drying weather while i'm off.

Hope the rest of you manage to have a nice day.

Positive vibes to moggins -you can do it.

    keep your chin up elona.

vicky - i've always found my colleagues will help out when things get tough. Us teachers aren't a bad bunch really. It's a good sign for you working to get out of special measures. My department are having a bit of a rough ride at the minute with health concerns and ill elderly parents, and we do what we can for each other. It is nice isn't it.

Anyway, stop waffling. Get on Michelle.

    See you all later xx

    Morning Folks,

Not a good start to my morning. I was putting the newly washed covers on our sofa (OH too late to help). He took the doglet out, came back and let her bound in with her muddy paws all over the sofa!

So, put the WM on with an uplanned wash (the covers) even though I had a washing basket ready to go!

Made myself tidy the kitchen last night so all tidy this morning. :) And then hung up loads of clean clothes too. Oh, and cut OHs hair. Didn't manage the freezer audit or menu planner though. :(

Have a good day - it's lovely here, shouldn't have to work when it is so sunny!

    Morning :D

What a beautiful morning it is! Far too nice to be stuck in an office  Am wearing sheer tights for the first time this year :D they only seem to last one wearing per pair, but M&S seem to sell them cheaper every year  - I am sure they used to be £5 per pack of 5, then £4.50, and now they're £3.50!

Everybody seems to have started later than normal today - although I didn't have time to post before leaving for work, I did have a quick read (while waiting for housemate to vacate the shower!) and was really surprised that there were only 3 posts in this thread by 7:30am!

Cats are funny aren't they. We discovered yesterday that one of "our" cats (we have three but they really live across the road - they've just adopted us for food and cuddles) is cheating on us with half the other houses in the street :p - the really funny thing is that she's known by a different name at each address :D

Though it's the same cat that's been responsible for me forgetting my keys this morning  as I left them on the draining board by the back door last night when, as soon as I got home, somebody wanted feeding :D (luckily housemate will be home before me, so am not locked out).

Breakfast: 2 small choc muffins (sorrreeee - but they were reduced - in fact there were four in the packet and were going to do two breakfasts, but two "mysteriously disappeared" yesterday evening :o)
    Lunch: Tuna & sweetcorn pasta
Dinner: not sure - might pick up something reduced on the way home. Or get some mackerel out of the freezer and have it with cabbage and a couple of spuds.

PP, cha97michelle and FunkyFairy - sorry you're not feeling too good today. PP - hope it goes OK at the hospital.

elona and smokey112 - hope your respective dads are doing a bit better.

Speaking of sick relatives - update on my grandma - my mum reports that she seems much improved.

    See you later

:hello: Goooooood Morning, fellow OS'ers :D

Haven't had time to read through the posts since my last visit, so apologies if I've missed a significant piece of news :o

    :j :j :j I now have my chicken!!! :j :j :j

She is lovely and even gave me an egg this morning. It wasn't edible, but, she's trying ;) She still looks a tad oven-ready but I know that with time and proper care she will soon fluff up and then go on to produce 'real' eggs, but even if she doesn't, she is definately a wonderful addition to our garden :D

The boys are really intrigued, eggcited and happy with her and probably just the tonic they need; d11yo was in a complete state the other evening because he is being subjected to some mild forms of bullying at school and it had become completely overwhelming for him, especially with the pressure of exams too :( Thankfully, we've been able to talk it through, compromise and decide on an action plan which he can cope and feel safe with. Time will tell.

On another 'proper' OS topic, my friend and I are going halves on a meat grinder/sausage maker :j :j Between us, we should be knocking up some wonderful HM sausages for the freezer :D Our first attempt will be wild rabbit and herb I think  :rotfl:

Really must get on, still have lots to do, but keep getting sidetracked chicken watching :o :rotfl:

Have a lovely, lovely day.

    Oops:

B: HM Yogurt with linseed and peach puree
L: Cheese and cucumber sarnies on wholemeal
D: Pasta and sauce with salad; HM ice-cream for dessert.

~ transplant "bleeding heart" and day-lillies
    ~ watch chook
    ~ order shed
    ~ buy bark chippings
    ~ watch chook
    ~ put BM on
~ 1 washload to do then hang
    ~ watch chook

    Hi all :hello:

My class are still in the throes of their SATS - they're currently doing Maths paper A. Beats me why we have to call it numeracy all year long and then suddenly, to confuse the children, they have to sit a "Maths" paper. In the mental maths paper, you're given a CD to play. True to form, it jumped at question 16 so I had to read the last 4 questions!

I've just had to phone the doctor to book an appointment for a "lady test" if you know what I mean . The receptionist was adamant that I didn't need one, even though I said that I'd received a letter. The next available appointment for this test? 6th June!!!!!
vicky - i've always found my colleagues will help out when things get tough. Us teachers aren't a bad bunch really. It's a good sign for you working to get out of special measures. The teachers in my school are lovely. All so supportive and helpful! That's one of the main reasons why I wanted to work here. It's just a shame that the head, and to a certain extent the deputy, are muppets. :p The report for the school going into Special Measures has just been published (post local elections, in case it swayed any political thinking   . Most of the parents are up in arms.............. and are really supportive of the school. They think that Ofsted got it completely wrong and most of them are writing to Ofsted! Even a girl in my class has decided to write to them.

The thread about sorting out your paperwork has inspired me, but I just need to find enough files for me AND OH! I'll try to start it tonight!

    Menu for the day:
B: Branflakes with a cup of tea.
L: Green bean salad (GI diet recipe)
D: Vegetable sauce with pasta (I hope........... I looked like that in the freezer, anyway :D) What ever it is, is defrosting as we speak.......

    Take care everyone.

    Hello everyone,
Thought I had spent too long lurking and should post again. I bring chocolate cake made with carnation from a recipe on a post a few days ago! So much for the diet <sigh>

I am at w**k at the moment (on the internet instead of a fag-break like the others, lol) but haven't been doing too badly lately. My weekends were turning into an epic (and expensive) shop-and-clean, so I am trying to get everything done during the week so I can reclaim my weekends.

Thanks to bank holiday (liberation day) on Tuesday, I have a tidy garden and fairly tidy house. All the washing up is done and there is a load of washing drying on my airer. I even found time to clean up the worst of the dog dribble after they had finished breakfast!

B: Cocoa shreddies (must wean myself off those!)
L: Rolls left over from Tues BBQ, goodness knows what with
D: No idea, but I've a full freezer!
