Bargain Rzl - I've made up my mind to talk to him tomorrow and let him know that his belittling my achievements really isn't motivating me, maybe if he realises that praise works better than criticism then he'll stop it! Fingers crossed!0

:hello: Gooooood Morning OS'ers :hello:
Not too much sun peeping through this morning, but I'm sure I heard on the radio that it will be out later. Hope so, because I want to change all the beds and get the bedlinens out.
B: Toasted HM Banana and Honey Loaf
L: mixed bean saladchicken with coleslaw and new potatoes
Want to give the kitchen a thorough going over today and sort through all the plastic tubs and marry up the lids and rethink storage. It's reaching a point where I seem to have numberous lids but few bottoms.
Have a good Thurday, OS'ers and remember to vote wisely:wave:
PS: Adding note to self in the hope that if I get way-laid on here I will still remember:- MUST pay bills via telephonen TODAY!!I just know I'll forget again if I don't write it down somewhere.

Morning all,
Hello Queenie.
Last night I cooked up pizza and garlic bread for DH and I when he came home at 21:45, whilst that was cooking I cooked the bacon and chicken breasts in the oven and made some banana and blueberry oatbran muffins.
My friend and I were discussing food for our respective children and I mentioned that I wanted to make chicken nuggets for dd as she isn't overly excited by meat, the recipe she had contained polenta, which neither she nor I had, but she produced this bag of oatbran which she had bought from the healthfood shop because she had been told it was healthy but had no idea what to do with it. The upshot of all this is - she gave me the oatbran, and I said to her "I suppose you want the rest of the bag back with 6 recipes for using it with" .... "ah, now you come to mention it" she said :rotfl:
Hence, my making muffins late last night, both kids are at playgroup this morning so I want to take them with me.
Result - dd slept in her bed all night :j , so 6hrs uninterrupted sleep in this house for DH and I. Even better, as it was my turn for night duty, it's DH's turn tonight, so fingers crossed for me.
OS-wise - hope washing dries on the line, ironing and finances that I never got around to doing yesterday as I ended up gabbing to friends on MSN.
B - Cereal
L - Chicken, bacon and mayo sandwiches
D - No idea yet, could be chicken casserole with the remaining 2 chicken breasts I have in the fridge.
Have a good OS (or non-OS) day folks!!!
PS Voting, hmm .... no voting cards came through for us, not seen any elections advertised, most mysterious. I know we're on the electoral register, so I have no idea what is going on. I saw in "The Times" yesterday that these elections are being rather under-played. HmmmmGC - March 2024 -0 -
Morning Everyone
Slept quite well last night:D but had some very weird dreams
WM is on and will be hung outside as it seems a lovely day. Toilet has been cleaned and house generally clean and tidy. OH has just put the rubbish out as he forgot last night:rolleyes:
DD is off school today as her school is being used for a polling station. This morning we are going to sit in the garden for a while and she is going to do some reading aloud and she has a basic diary to write for her teacher tomorrow. I am due up Kings hospital this afternoon-so have offered that she can either stay with grandparents or come along. She actually enjoys coming to the hospital....mad child:eek:
Havent heard anything about my complaint letter from our weekend away, so will follow that up in the next couple of days if nothing back by then.
Anyways, got to go.
Breakie: Fresh loaf, jam and honey/jam and fruit
Lunch:Baked Spud, ham, salad, coleslaw
Dinner:Shepards Pie, carrots and cabbage
Hugs to all
PP

Morning Zed - funnily enough, no polling cards here either
"Underplayed"? Well, if no polling cards are going out ... the word, "underhand" springs to mind
:T How wonderful that dd gave you 6hrs uninterrupted sleep :j :j
My d11yo gave me a right chuckle when I went to bed last night, he'd left a questionnaire on my pillow and I had to tick the true/false answers to the statements he'd written about himself - I only had 7 questions to answer and the 'results' fell into just 3 categories:
5-7 right answers = You know me very well
2-4 right answers = Ok, so you know me a *bit*
0-1 right answers = AM I ADOPTED!!??? :rotfl:
He's just told me I only got one question wrong ... and as it turns out, it was because I thought the question was "I have Solent" (really confused me that one) but in actual fact the question was "I hate 50 Cent"So, forgiveable methinks
Phew! That means our day has begun on a high note - I now know it's not my eyes, but his handwriting that is waffy and he's reassured that he's not adopted:rotfl:
Oooh, think I can see a smidgen of sunshine poking through now too :j~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good morning everyone:wave:
I don't know about underplayed here,I've never been in more demand for my vote than in this election. Not only has the Labour party candidate been round for a chat,he came because a few days earlier our MP knocked on the door for a chat and told him we were undecided.I must say I was seriously impressed with my ds1 (aged 10) who said that the Labour party were on their way up the road and that Michael Foster(MP for Worcester) was coming to the door.I was in the back room and I said 'no, it won't be Michael Foster,it's just some party worker',but I opened the door and there he was.Very nice chap too.But I wasn't half impressed with ds-not only does he know the name of our MP,he can recognise him too;) Not bad for 10.
It's going to be another nice day here I think,so some gardening is on the cards. My Mum's coming over with pea and bean plants or seeds (not sure which).I'm also going for a swim this morning.
Breakfast- porridge for kids
smoothie for me (kids don't really like them)
Lunch- Egg sandwiches for me and Mum
Kids-English muffin sandwich with ham,carrot sticks,tomatoes,cucumber slices,slice of bread pud,grapes
Supper- veg curry and rice, yogurt and fruit0 -
morning everyone! suns out here.
We got our voting cards, and I have had a couple of candidates knock on my door this time round too!
DS2 will be at nursery as they are not using his school for polling.
Didnt watch the happiness prog last nite, have taped it, watch that this morning.
Most of day will be spent packing stuff, food for centerparcs tomorrow!!
Am having a nice time being at home and chatting to people during the day, or posting on here - when I start this new job I dont suppose I will be able to do that anymore - I shall miss the contact with people, seeing as I will be in an office on my own most of the time, sitting looking out of window at the blazing hot sun we will probably get this summer now - aaww - must check my lottery cos if ive won i wont have to go back to work. Dont get me wrong, dont mind the challenge of a new job post, but i like being at home0 -
Morning all.
The loud birds right outside my bedroom window woke me up early this morning, but instead of being constructive I've been playing on the internet! Oops!
Last day at w**k for the week today as I'm off on a spa weekend with my mum, her best friend and her daughter tomorrow morning - really looking forward to it!
Will pop back later, hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Hello everybody,
I've had a lovely morning today. I went to the vegetarian cooking demo & tasting morning. I couldn't believe it - it cost $5,(about 2 pound) started at 10am - 12.15pm. They gave you lunch afterwards. We had nibblies, soup, main meal & dessert. :jThey also included the recipe sheets. The food was so nice. I'm not a vegetarian but I love all food. It's on for the next 3 weeks every Thursday. Later on tonight I will go into the recipe thread and post the ones I really loved.
Did a few errands afterwards and got home around 2pm. Just had a cuppa and vegged out watching Without A Trace that we taped last night. Tea is cooked as there was enough from last night. Yayyyyyyyy.
R Rtz I'm glad that paper bag won't come in handy and your hair's nice.
Math The house isn't built yet. Trust me you will ALL know about it when it starts.I'll have to change my name to Whinging ALass.
Queenie Don't forget your bills.Have you posted the Honey & Banana Loaf? Because of the cyclone here a month ago up north Banana's are $10 a kilo. But I have 2 frozen ones - so can cook something with them. Looks like banana's are off our fruit list for a while.
Hope you all have a nice day.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
