Sounds like PP and BRZL had a lot of fun today. I didn't feel my ears burning , so i must have been safe. :rotfl:
Also fab to see MATH back. Shame about your daughters arm, but as you say, when the advantages (free OK mag) are as good as that, who should argue. Thank god we pay so much NI for such stunning service.
i had a strange day at work. A last minute meeting with the head, literally i was told about it, and then i had to go. I am having my manegerial responsibility removed. It was quite funny as they were tiptoeing round me to spare my feelings, when i was wanting to dance round the room going 'yessssss!!!!!'. That will make my life a lot easier. I then had a good planning session with my head of department about how to educate y9 after SATS, and we have come up with a great project about the World cup, and it should be quite entertaining. Shame i don't teach y9 so it shouldn't actually help me out, but i felt proud as it was good.
Managed to strain my voice when teaching y8 this afternoon, as some of them really were not fussed about doing my practical, and i ended up losing my rag with them a bit. Silly me. I promised myself i wouldn't do that.
OS - i managed to get some washing done before i left for work and DH had done the washing up. Salmon for tea tonight, as i've noticed my skin has gone really dry. I exfoliated and put baby oil on, and then put moisturiser on as well. I'm not sure what else to do, as it is normally dry but not this bad. I think i'd best mention it to the midwife next week, as i'm fed up of my black clothes looking nasty. I am also having to abandon the BM at the moment, as the HM bread is turning my stomach. I think its the yeast. So i'm having delightful school dinners for the time being, although i might go back to crackers next week due to the expense.
Vicky - i've PM'd you. Sorry i didn't notice you had sent me one last night.
I've just had to turn the sound down on Paul o grady show as some woman was spoiling the plot to last nights lost. I opted for sleep in the end, as i can probably save 30minutes by skipping the adverts if we watch it tonight. Why is everything good on at 10pm through the week, and then nothing at all on a weekend???
I'm off to do a quick plan of tomorrow before DH gets in. I think i might also stick some jacket spuds in as i have a bit of a thing for them at the moment.

Afternoon all.
Back from work now, it was slightly less hectic than yesterday and I did some really good work, but at the end of the day my boss decided to pick it all to pieces - I don't think he's ever heard of praising staff. Am really p***ed off now!
Hope everyone had a good day and hugs to those who need (or want) them.0 -
Evening!
Im just back from work too - we had a slightly less busy day but had to finish at 5 instead of 4, grrrrr....
Anyhoo - weather looks beautiful still, but I think I might just go and hoover the floors as they are looking mighty grubby. The cat is being noisy and running around like a demon which is very funny.
I had a £20 gift voucher from work today as a present for working late last week (thank you very much!) so I opted for next vouchers - Ill use it to pay off my next account which I very naughtily keep using. Im determined to clear it soon!
Anyway, im off, boyf has only just woken up so its time to go and scold him like a naughty child!
p.s - where'd the thanks button go?

Evening everyone :hello:
I'm sitting here watching the "Great British Menu" and waiting for OH to come home so that I can start to cook supper. I've been to Tesco, bought loads of bits and pieces (it was one of those "big" shops, but not too big)......... including a few yellow sticker items. I always feel let down if there's nothing that I need/use in the yellow sticker section. Am I wierd?Oooh, and I also made sure that I used loads of my extra points vouchers from the Healthy Living and Wine Club mailings. Always vital...........
PP and Bargain Rzl - glad that the tea in posh cups and saucers went well
MATH - glad to see you back  Sorry to hear about Miss Mathlett's arm, but at least you've now caught up with the "real" world of celebs!
I'm going to be AWOL for a couple of days. I'm going with 60 of the children to a youth hostel near Stratford-Upon-Avon. They're doing quite a few activities over a couple of days, and me stressing! I'm obviously not doing it by myself though......................
I'll probably be around later.

Evening everyone - just in from work and catching up on MSE. Lentil lasagne cooking in oven, cat fed and happy, and I have a video to watch later. So a nice chilled evening for me, and hope all of you have the same.
Wot, no thanks button and I've lost my blueberries avatar?! :eek:Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Hi sarahmelita - I have a boss like that, too! Last Thursday she took the day off, and I achieved LOADS because of having no interruptions - left the office feeling really pleased with myself. Next day when I came in, boss even commented that I was looking rested and refreshed
and then within 15 minutes she'd picked my work apart 3 times (for things which weren't actually problems, just things she'd chosen to turn into problems!) leaving me feeling rotten for the rest of the day
Aaaaaah.... week off work.... blissssssssss!

What a lovely day weather-wise it has been today
2 loads of washing washed and dried on the line, the final one is in the machine now (will check weather forecast in a moment for tomorrow)
Lawn has been mown with the able assistance of my dd (2.5yo), plus patched with grass seed.
A little of the finances have been done.
Mooch around the market completed.
Managed to read "The Times" from cover-to-cover :j :j . Now, whilst that doesn't sound exciting to most, trust me - with a dd who no longer naps - it was an achievement and a half, LOL!
My sewing room resembles Beirut on a bad day - the contents of the airing cupboard are carefully piled in it, with a mountain of ironing glaring at me from the corner ... and a handful of nappies and tights hidden strategically!
I'm not sure how much longer I can handle the mess, but it may encourage DH to sort out the airing cupboard, y'never know!
Contemplating getting my hair cut, it's currently 3/4 down my back and I'm fed up of just shoving a hair slide or hairband in it. I'm not one of these creative types who knows how to put it up and it look good. The decision is - how short do I go? Hmmmmm .....
B - cereal, dd ate apricots
L - sausage roll
D - dd ate nothing (even though I made a lovely veg risotto for her)
not sure what we're going to have, as I got bacon and chicken out of the freezer to do a wrapped thingie with cheese sauce and jersey royals ... dh has not yet got home and is unlikely to get here b4 21:30 and I really don't want to cook that late ... so it might be pizza and garlic bread out of the freezer.
Received my copy of "Red" yesterday following the tip a while back on here about cheap subscription - but no freebie with it that I was expecting?Any ideas?
I love it when the sun comes out, I feel so much more content with the world, even when I've had no sleep!
Right, time to crack open the wine and do some more of these blasted finances (business, not personal). VAT Return to contemplate, and got to figure out what Corporation Tax is and how we register for itGC - March 2024 -0 -

Normally the freebie gift comes seperately from the magazine. I have had quite a few and always like that.
Think I might have a look at the subs thread and see if there is anything that takes my fancy0 -
:hello: Goooooooood Evening OS'ers
Haven't had a chance to catch up with the past couple of days yet - so ((hugs)) for those who may be in need of them.
Been really busy! What is it about sunshine that makes the world seem so much brighter? :j:confused:
Anyway, thanks to a discussion with my mini-men, I'm well motivated on my walking/steps goals.Instead of driving for my appointment this morning, I walked the boys to school and to my appointment (knowing I would be too early!) but detoured, with a good book via the park - it was sooooo pleasant!! On the walk back I stopped off at the Health Food shop and managed to pick up what I needed from the reduced basket :j It's all in the timing
:rotfl:
Had a chance to rehydrate myself before then taking the car to the supermarket (too far to walk and too much shopping to carry in any case). Completely maxed out on Tesco bonus coupons and made certain I did a full shop because I had a coupon for double points, which I was granted in addition to the other coupons giving me 100 points for this and another 100 for that, another for a free box of Tesco Bran Flakes plus several others that I'd been granted via their various "clubs". Clubbed together with a friend too so I could use wine for them with my coupons but the points go on my shopping :j The great thing was, when the receipt was printed, there was an "Extra" receipt coupon offering .... double points on my next shop!! :rotfl: Keep 'em coming!!
D11yo made tea tonight (as a practise run for his Food Tech assignment next week). HM Hummus with crudites for starters - no tahini so he improvised with a blob of peanut butterit was quite tasty too! - then HM Hawaiian burger with a mixed bean/tomato/cucumber salad concoction; again, a very tasty meal
His confidence is boosted, our appetite satiated, my meal lethargy cured, so happy smiles all round
Thanks to TM's advice some time back and the joys of the local £ shop, I now not only have a goodly stash of microfibre cloths, but they are all colour co-ordinated
Things I've learned over the past couple of days:-
~ os "catch" in the form of modern day Frisbee is an art; one that I have yet to perfect
~ supervising an 11yo the old fashioned way of offering advice is no longer "cool" - in order to do so effectively, one should be in another room entirely and be on vocal beck and call onlythus, shouting instructions from room to room is now the way forward!
~ salivating over the hunk in front of you in the Q at the supermarket is one way to secure *his* vouchers for school are given to you, just so long as it is a discreet drool disguised as a friendly bit of asked for advice
~ playing Frisbee is a great way to secure "freebies"Items 'discovered' during a half hour session include: a metal bookmark, 55p and a keyring (no keys)
~ holding hands with a 10yo is *not* permitted walking to school; however, snuggling on the sofa is mandatory!!
Have a lovely evening, off to play catch up:wave:

Hello everyone
Was at college this evening, but got the choice of leaving at 7.00pm if we wanted...cue mad dash for the door.... Said to myself I'd be good and do some college work at home, but have had my nose stuck to the laptop screen since I got back. Will do some work in a minute...
I got the result of the interview I had yesterday...didn't get the job. Apparently my answers were a bit imprecise, and while I uttered a lot of words didn't really make that many definite points...or to put it into my own words "I just talked sh*te". Excuse my French! So I have to put up with my dippy boss and gurning colleague a while longer.
I have read the entire thread through, but being in an airhead mood have forgotten an awful lot, so please forgive me if you think I've left you out but it's defo not intentional.
Regards kitties getting their gnashers out, my little Tabitha (now deceased) had two dental operations during her time on earth with me. I didn't know about the scrambled egg tip at the time, but she was v.happy with ordinary Whiskas or whatever. In the end she only had four back teeth and two canine ones...but she could still scoff biscuits if she fancied them, teeth or no teeth.
I see that lots of people here have had more than their fair share of tragedy and heartbreak, especially because of cancer. It's a horrible disease, but with all the running and fund-raising that so many people do, advances are being made all the time and the future looks bright for lots of cancer sufferers because of all this fund-raising...so....
BIG PAT ON THE BACK TO EVERYONE WHO IS DOING A SPONSORED RACE - WHETHER YOU RUN, WALK, HOP, WADDLE OR SKIP THE DISTANCE...WELL DONE!!!
What dreadful tease mentioned sunshine and sitting outside?? I looked out of the window today at around midday and there was a beautiful blue sky. 45 minutes later when I went for lunch the sky was dark grey and I got soaked in the teeming rain. It rained all afternoon, and has only eased off in the past hour or so. Hope it doesn't rain tomorrow evening as I want to go for a walk to encourage a bit of weight loss. There is a debate in the Discussion Time forum about size 16 and if it's sexy or not...well, I am more than size 16...in fact I'd be delighted to wear a 16. At my skinniest ever I was a 12 but kept fainting and looked dreadful...so perhaps 14 or 16 is what I should aim for. It is interesting to read what people say about size 16 women...some of it is quite negative and even rather nasty unfortunately, no wonder I had a complex when I was younger.
Does this look like History revision to you? No, it doesn't look like it to me either! If I was doing a degree in MSE I'd be top of the class...but gotta go now and do some proper studying.
Bye all.
