I'm ok. Don't feel I'm making much headway with debt atm, but then I know I won't see any big changes before next year, just have to be patient and wait.

Have booked the flights and accommodation for N. Ireland. Flights were £31 from Cardiff to Belfast.Bf said he's paying for accommodation as it was more expensive than expected, but I'll try to give him at least half of what my share would've been. Then there's car hire and food. But still have time, it's only in March so ages away.

Yeah, it is hard when you feel a bit stuck. I felt like that for a few months when OH was looking for a job after uni. Will probably feel like that again when we are saving for the baby as probably won't be able to overpay by a whole lot.

That was a great deal for the flight! If I was you I would be tempted to let your BF pay for the accom if that is what he wants to do. You could always treat him to a nice meal when you are over there, or put some money towards a nice present for his Gran!

Sorry, that's £31 each not for two.
See about the accom nearer time depending how much money I have then. I don't mind him treating me, but I don't want him to have to pay for me. Plus it's a lot of money to pay for one person.

£10.73 for extra student loan pot from amazon sales. One bid on one of my ebay items ending on Sunday, and a few watchers on couple of items, but nothing for the rest of them. :( Hope it picks up at the weekend.

Fingers crossed it does pick up!

I'm sure your BF won't mind if he has the money. Myself and my OH always help each other out if one has less cash than the other. OH wasn't earning for 2 years and I paid for all the holidays/mini-breaks that we went on. He would do the same for me, so try not to worry about that aspect of things!

I know, I'd just like to be able to pay my own way. But my bf always says the same, he wouldn't offer if he didn't want to. But he's not made of money either...but has a lot more than I do. :D

I admire your independence but it sounds like your BF is really nice and is just trying to do something nice for you. Sometimes we can be too independent! As I said, you could always treat him to a nice meal when you are away. I am sure he would appreciate that :)

Look at it this way. If the roles were reversed, would you help him out? I'm pretty sure you would!

I think that's a good idea, treat him to a nice meal whilst we're away, if we do get any just together time that is. He hasn't been back to Ireland for 10years!!

And yes, if roles were reversed, of course I'd help him out. Thanks.

Exciting news for you with all the changes, moving, baby coming along...How you feeling about it all?

    No prob!

I am feeling very positive about all the changes. I can't wait to move as the place we are moving to is way nicer than where we are! And I am really excited about the baby, although I am glad we have another 4 months to plan and save for it!

I just checked with my loan and if I overpay by 3k, rather than pay off my credit card (which is 0% until next June) I will be paying £25 less each month. It doesn't sound that much but I would be right in thinking that the overall interest would be reduced if I overpay by 3K?

I think I will do it when I have the 3k saved up. I can overpay on the mbna credit card with my earnings from AQA and then I repay the balance of the card next May or something :) Hope I am making sense!
