  • Good morning Tirlittan and TooMuch!

Well done Tirlittan - you sound so determined I think you will be debt free in 22 months (if not before). You are so good at sticking to your targets. Think of all the fun when that debt is all paid off :) Poole is supposed to be beautiful. Would love to go next summer.

TooMuch - After Xmas/New Year is a great time to start off on the debt busting. Maybe you could start off with dooyoo and the surveys. They don't take too much time out of the day and do start to add up.

I made a bit of a mistake and paid off some of the 0% Virgin card rather than my Oz card. My debt is now below 13k though (woo hoo!!!) and my paper hat sig is over 13k - double woo hoo!

I think if I put my head down and OH gets his tax back soon I might have both credit cards nearly paid off by the time the baby arrives. Then I could balance transfer some of my loan (like you Tirlittan) onto a 0% credit card and start to pay that off.

    You've made amazing progress CMD!

Don't think I'll be DF before that date, cos I still need to find at least the £1900 extra on my sig to get it paid even by that time, which would be 5 months early. But I really want to be DF before Nov 2011 so I will try my hardest, whilst still having a life of course! ;)

  • Hi CMD

I have 7 cards with balances on so can't do any balance transfers. I'm focusing on A&L first, have made a few over payments but only a pound or two.

I won't be sad when Xmas is over to be honest, but am excited for the kids.

    Thanks Tirlittan,

I am feeling very positive about the debt today. I just can't wait til it is all gone. I reckon it might be gone by June 2011. I think that will be my new aim :) Then I will start overpaying on our mortgage! If things are going well next year I am going totry and overpay by 2k on our mortgage. There is a bit of a shortfall on the amount of rent we get from tenants compared to what we pay on the mortgage (prob about £100) so would like to even that off and then chop off the years.

You know I am defo a firm believer in having a life whilst paying off debts :)

I defo agree with Tirlittan - the extra pounds defo make a difference. I used to scoff at the thoughts of paying off bits and pieces here and there but they defo add up.

    Morning all!

    It's Pay Day!!! :j:j:j

Ok, it's not that exciting, but there you go...
Hate A&L though, if I use any money today, it'll say I'm on minus, though my wages have gone in just after midnight. So I'll wait till tomorrow to transfer money around. But, I have made my s.loan targets now, so feeling very :A. Tomorrow £4k will be on it's way to my Finnish bank account and soon I can pay it off my s.loan. Next year I'll know exactly how much I have left, but will take the £4k off my sig and update again when I know for sure.

My minimum payment on CC will be changable, but I will pay my own minimum off £40 a month plus whatever extra I can rustle up. Will be able to pay almost a tenner more from this set of wages and next week I'll get some amazon money and most if not all will go towards CC again.

My dad's arriving tomorrow, so this will be my last day at work this week. :)

    Morning!

Payday is so exciting isn't it?

I am not being paid til the 31st Dec but OH is getting paid this Friday so we will last over Xmas on his wages and then we can survive on mine for January. Don't know how much realistically we will be able to pay off debt with our wages this month. Will try my best but Xmas is so expensive, even though I won't be going out much this year.

How long is your Dad over for Tirlittan?

    Hi CMD!

My dad's over for a week. Will be quite nice to see him 'on my patch' so to speak. Previously he's only done a day trip to Wales so will be cool for him to come to the 'capital'.

You're so very close to paying off cc's.

Oh you will have a lovely time with him so close to Xmas. So what are your Xmas plans? Will you spend it with your OH?

I still have quite a bit on my Oz credit card so still a bit to go but at least the the Virgin one is 0% until June so that allows a bit of time to get rid of it.
