    Hi :hello:
Been lurking on the thread for a couple of weeks and would be great if I could join you all. Spend a lot of time on my own and would be fab to have you lot to chat to :o
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints - the sinners are much more fun ;)

Hi poppytime- welcome aboard. All you need to do to join in is talk! And we all listen :D As you can see- sometimes I even talk to myself but then I'm just odd! ;)
We also 'occasionally' run MSE style mini challenges amongst ourselves (usually around NSDs) but anyone and everyone is welcome to talk nonsense here. :)

Right now I am currently picking the music to play at my wedding. Catch is- OH has not proposed yet  :D But hopefully, touch wood, it is in the offing in the near-ish future.

Y'see OH and I have been together nearly 9 1/2 years  and this summer i finally got round to broaching the subject of wanting to get married - to which he replied words alongs the line of 'what's the point?' Cue much angst from me which these guys had to deal with.

After a second conversation things looked more positive and then a month after that I wanted to talk about it again and he said ' I told you that if I was going to propose I would want it to be a surprise so we can't have any more conversations about it' so just waiting now...

And 'cos I am a proper loony I have been pretty much planning out this whole wedding in my head so that when he does (it has to be a when, it can't be a if..) get round to it, it can all be whipped into shape pronto!

So that's me in a nutshell.
Oh yeah, and I'm 28 live in Leeds with OH and a cat called Harold. :)

Anyways found something on Itunes called 'the vitamin string quartet' who do string versions of modern songs which might make quite good music for wedding instead of the 'traditional stuff'.

  • Yo. Welcome Poppytime!

Laura, you're always talking to yourself - mental :p. I don't think you're crazy about the wedding planning despite non-proposal thing though. Pretty much the same situation as me and BF. All he will say is he has a plan and he basically won't talk about what /when is involved in this illusive plan. It seems I must just wait and see (and secretly design a wedding in my head in the meantime :o). He knows I wanted to have a baby before I'm 30, but he doesn't want to have children before getting married (amongst other 'no children yet' reasons). I asked if he understood what I wanted for my life, he said yes. I asked if his plan fitted in with what I want, and he said he wasn't gonna tell me anything. The only thing I've been able to get out of him is when I said, I just want to know that I'm not gonna have to wait years and years to have a family, and he said 'it won't be'. Helpful.

Fuzz, I liked the look of that house, all I could think was 'it's how cheap?' Be thankful that you don't live here, it's sooo frickin expensive. Don't think we will be able to ever buy a house ever

Rubes, I wanna see your hair! Glad you like it :j. My mum never seems to like the colour of my hair, she def doesn't like it dark, thinks it makes me looked washed out and pale. She seems to not realise that I actually am washed out pale, regardless of hair colour. But then again, this is the person who when I was 10, convinced me to have my hair cut really short. I looked like a boy. I was so distraught that I burst out crying in the hairdressers :o. I was proper bawling. She still insists that my haor looked lovely in that style. It was horrid. I thought my point was proven when some woman the local market yelled at me cos from behind she'd mistaken me for her son.
much work to be done - new sig coming soon...
