  • Cash Price £10,255
    Less Lookers/Government Scrappage Allowance £3,500
    Balance to Finance £6,755
    60 X Monthly Repayments £135.04
Plus £273 Credit arrangement and option fees
    Total Amount Payable £11,875.40

That's the deal. The cash price is 10,255 less scrap allowance which brings it down 6,755. The difference between the balance to finance and the total payable is the interest. This comes to 5120.40. That's a lot of interest.

    I'll speak slowly for you...

The total payable is £11875.40, made up of:
    Dealer/Government/Manufacturer pay £3500 scrappage
Customer pays £8102.40 in 60 payments of £135.04
Customer also pays £273 arrangement fee.
    Total payable £11875.40
    Total payable by customer £8375.40
    Total interest and charges £1620.40
  • Money grabber the total amount payable includes the scrappage allowance

    i.e. £5120.40
    less £3500
    Finance charges = £1620.40

Thanks Paul, I rang Abbey and aaarrrrggghh they have taken away my £1000 overdraft with NO notice and therefore have taken away all my wages, I am screwed, got to ring tomorrow and speak to lending deparetment as they are closed today:mad:

I am soooooooooooooo angry, no new car for me unless I can get this sorted grrrrrrr

It would have been a lot worse if Abbey had done this to you just after signing up to the Finance on this car.
    .....

  • Yeah I know, I spoke to them today and they removed it accidently whilst they were changing my type of account, so now all is sorted. Im paying it off gradually anyway, want to get rid of it.

I test drove the Corsa yesterday loved the inside how it handled and I also like the way it looks, there was just one thing, the seat felt a bit weird with the way it curves to support your back..... Now I have only ever driven Peugeots for any length of time , is this seat something I will get used to do you think people?
  • We have an Astra Van at work and the seats are awful! I've never gotten used to them.
