Morning
my last week starts today and £10.32 to get me through until next Tuesday.Only have toilet rolls on my shopping list to buy at some point this week and a t.v. paper so fingers crossed I shall have a few NSD's .
Craft club this afternoon, so only 20p today for a cuppa.nearly there girls, we are going great guns.
This week I shall be consulting my 'Misers cook book' that I have online to see what stuff I can concoct for next to nothing. I have a lot of soup in the freezer so that will be my starters as a filler before my evening meal, then it will be a choice of freezer or store cupboards to sort out something as a main meal.
I am making a large 2 pint rice pudding in the slow cooker today so that should do several puds, so the dinnner bit in the middle doesn't have to be very large. Tonight I am having sweetcorn and tuna salad as I have two tins of that in the cupboard so mixed up with some garlic mayo it will be tasty.
Half the mixture tonight for dinner, and the rest as a sandwich for lunch tomorrowTomorrow night I will have a bit of a mixture as I have some pilchards in the cupboards so they will be mixed up with a pinch chilli powder and I shall stuff a large jacket potato with the mixture and sprinkle some grated cheese on the top. Again with a soup stater, and a rice pud for afters it will be more than enough. I more or less cost a meal out for the evening at around 50-70p if possible I have collected some brilliant meal ideas from this site and stuck them into a Word file that is my Misers cook book and its suprising how just adding a few herbs and spices something as ordinary as a jacket takes on a new life so to speak.
Keep up the good work girls

Been out for milk this morning - total spend of 49p.
Checked the Whoopsies in Mr M on my way back from A1di, and there were a few bits of interest (for lunches over the next couple of days, so wouldn't need freezer space) - but not reduced by enough to make it worth getting them. I don't yet know when they do their second reductions, so thought I might wander down around lunch time and see what's happening
DS finished off the vanilla ice-cream on Sunday night, and wasn't hugely impressed I didn't go to the shops at all yesterday - hence it hadn't been replaced. He's going to be even less impressed to find fresh milk in the fridge and no new ice-cream today (they come from the same store), so I'm just going to have to convince him they "didn't have any in" :rolleyes2
He seems to think a week is a reasonable amount of time between buying the 2 litre tubs of this, as he works it out as a daily spend of 'just' 14p+. But looking at it as a percentage of my daily 'per person' budget (if bought once a week it's 7.9% of my original budget, 8.6% of my current budget, and 9.1% of where I'm considering dropping it to!) I try and make it at least 10 days between purchases !!! (Tomorrow's 10 days since last bought, but I shouldn't need A1di for anything else - so may make him wait until Thursday)

Got this week's Tesco delivery a couple of days early - so yesterday instead of tomorrow. According to the target of £55 pw basic stuff (mostly on Wednesdays) + £30 pm entertaining etc I should be at £220 by the end of tomorrow (4th Wednesday of the month). So I'm quite pleased with £214.66. No room for complacency, though.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Went back out to Mr M an hour ago. There was a lady just finishing off marking the chilled Whoopsies down to 50% off (had been 25% off), but nothing had yet moved in the meat, fish or bakery sections.
As the bread rolls still weren't worth getting I came home and pulled half a dozen out of the freezer (previous Whoopsie purchase) - which means I should have space for the 4 tubs of Four Cheese Pasta sauce I got (49p each instead of £1) :rolleyes2Cheryl0 -
