2 NSDs in a row this weekend; haven’t been near any shops!
Went for a walk with DD this afternoon & there were loads of blackberry bushes along the lanes, but it was evident that others had been there already with hardly any fruit & lots of places where it could be seen it had been stripped. Did manage to find a couple of handfuls, which DD had as a snack.
Stripped the last of the meat from the chicken & made chicken & mushroom pie today. With the original roast chicken & fajitas that it three dinners from the chicken & the carcass is in the SC for stock now.
Also have some stewing steak marinating in the fridge in red wine, red wine vinegar & spices to go into the SC tomorrow for stifado. Being marinated overnight & then cooked in the SC leaves the meat butter soft & so scrummy.
Will need to do some shopping tomorrow & have been working on the list on mysupermarket. I’m about half way through the month & well stocked up anyway. The guide price is a fraction below £13, which is great, as the budget would allow twice that.0 -
Just popping in to update spends with a £9.38 total from Tesco - needed some grapes for lunchboxes, and then picked up a few other bits which were on offer - v. dangerous! And then we got some beautiful veg from a roadside stall for £1.50. Hoping to have several NSDs now as I can't think of anything we need.December GC: £3500

Went shopping in Mr M today and spent £33.79, there are lots of offers at the moment. Brings my total for the week to £38.03, but I am probably stocked up for a fortnight now.
Dinner last night was Chicken New Yorker, with hash browns for me and jacket spud for OH. Today was a yummy Cottage Pie, with cabbage. I did the base in the slowcooker and bulked it out with grated carrots and lentils and it turned out gorgeous. We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hellooooo, just sticking my head in as it's been total chaos home here!
I was a bit miffed at having to spend £70 in Mr T's yesterday but I did get lots of essentials, toilet roll etc that was on offer!
I'm in the process of "trying" to decorate and sort out boxes of stuff.... not going to plan!!!! lol
Will update sig etc as soon as I get 2 mins to calculate spends ;o)"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0 -
Week two shopping and I came in under at £36 of budget of £40. My meat stocks are getting a bit low though and I may have to try the butcher for some minced beef etc as I know if I go to Costco I will spend a small fortune that I don't have!!!
Spent money the weekend but prior to that I'd had two NSD in a row!!!
I know a NSD isn't on the cards today as have to get DS some polo shirts for nursery. And I have to get a first birthday present for a friends child. So can't see there being many NSD's this weekI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Good Morning everyone,
well wet again today.Have asked my brother to pick some brambles for me when he next goes walking. He walks for miles and is usually quite pleased to do some berry picking. Won't be today as it is pouring.
Perhaps if I have them for weekend I could make my bramble jelly. I inherited my Gran's jam making equipment.
Hope everyone has a good day.It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
Can I join in please, I am very well stocked and would really like to get through this month only buying fresh fruit and veg. I usually spend around 100 a month and would like to halve this until Christmas, which should give me about 200 pound extra for Christmas.
This week I have only spent 2pounds on fruit.
Thats my plan anyway. My BIG problem is that I cannot resist a bargain so am trying to stay out of the supermarketsSealed pot challenge 5430 -
Hi, I hope everyone is well, I have just updated my signature and need to try to be extra good for the next 3 weeks. I quite often make jam usually blackberry and apple, but this weekend I tried to make some elderberry, I used my jam thermometer and it read that it was ready, so I then seived the jam to get the seeds out and it just hasn't set at all (I used elderberries, sugar and lemon juice) does anyone know why this has happened? ThanksWW start date 31/8/2011 :j

Um, I don't think I'm doing very well so far. I have spent just over half the budget so far and we're only on the 7th of September. Oh the shame!
In my defence (she says defiantly...), a big slice of the budget was for booze that I bought right at the start of the month for a house party (well, at the end of Aug for consumption in Sept). Also, lots of household essentials ran out at the start of the month.
Sooo, for the rest of the month, I have approx £35 to play with each week. My plan this week is to:- Use up what's left in fridge/freezer/cupboards before buying more (bran flakes with aubergine, anyone?)
- Go shopping twice a week - @ Aldi/Lidl to take advantage of fruit n veg offers
- Allow £5 for extra milk, bread, cheese, etc. that we inevitably run out of midweek.
