anyone tried to claim ppi from them recently ?

I sent in a letter 3 weeks ago for copies of my past credit agreements, but conveniently they can't trace the letter. I will be dispatching a new letter sent recorded delivery to head office and will hand deliver another one to my branch

    Hello,
I started a claim with Clydesdale about 8 weeks ago. They have got back to me stating my claim was not upheld as there is no proof that the branch manager who I apparently had to speak to about my CC application told me that "my application would likely be refused unless I took the PPI". They also gave a copy of my application saying I ticked the box saying I agreed to all the terms of the PPI (of course I did! I was told I wouldn't get the card otherwise!!) and since I only applied 8 weeks ago when I have had the card for 8 years I must be happy with the PPI ( whereas I actually thought If I cancelled my PPI then I would have to pay off the card, which i cant immediately afford to do, as it was a basis of me getting the card application approved)

Anyway, wife is telling me to apply to the Ombudsman now to further my claim.

One last thing. The bank does not take your claims an instruction to cancel the PPI! So I am supposed to still pay it according to them as they say I am obviously happy with it!
  • Hi this is what they told me as well. I have sent it on to FSO.
    You can cancel the PPI
  • Catch this one!

Clydesdale bank have just wrote to my partner and told her they still owe money from a previous loan and they would like to settle in full with interest! Cheque arrived for just shy of 5k...:T

thats further to the above claim!
