You need to read a bit more. Audi say> the interval can be up to 19,000 miles/24 months for petrol engines and up to 30,000 miles/24 months for 3 and 4 cylinder TDI diesel engines.
I doubt your mate goldspanners will disagree with that?

would you honestly be happy to let your car go for 2 years without a service? and by service i mean the full car, not just the engine. 12 months max for me im afraid. theres more to need attention than just engines,a lot can happen in 24 months to your brakes or suspension.

    Each to their own.

    exactly.
i don't think anyone is argueling with that fact, but people need to be informed that theres more to it than meets the eye with modern diesels.

I think people need to be informed of a lot of things, whether it be before chosing religion, car, politician, etc.

Fully agree, I've been saying that diesels are the right option for certain people in certain circumstances on here for ages now. Its just funny when people also think they're built for speed as well as economy, the second law of thermo dynamics says they aint!

Now we know he actually owns the super dooper fast economical diesel A3 with a whole 170 performence bhp it makes perfect sense!
I would consider the TT more of a performance car than your beemer:D

    So would I, although much much slower. Like I said before;
In similar posts on her I've made it perfectly clear it wasn't bought as a performence car. I have a house in Hungary and whilst it was being renevated I was doing huge miles traveling there. It was the cheapest alternative to a propper car. It's still a damn sight closer to performence than a diesel A3 and TT though! :rotfl:With regards to performence cars; I bought the M12 for performence and also an Exige, clio v6 and Westfield xtr4 which have all since been sold but for the M12. I'm also waiting delivery of a supercharged airel atom which I will guarentee will be cheaper to run than any modern diesel and has more performence than any supercar I've ever been in.

I bought the other real performence cars as....well, performence cars. No need for the smiley, I actually don't mind people saying it wasn't quick, It's not like it was a 2.0 diesel A3 Yawn!

I only used the A3 as an example  I have owned and driven many faster cars.

Are you now conceding that an A3 2.0 TDI (170) would be cheaper to run and need servicing less frequently than an A3 2.0 TFSI?

I would rather get my thrills where performance is more appropriate ;)

You are just being childish now.

FYI it is Newtons third law of motion

At least I know how to spell performance

No, you're getting the law of reciprocal motion (third law of motion) confused with lesser works of thermodynamics regarding the conservation of energy. Second law of thermodynamics and to a lesser extent the first and third too but well googled non the less.

Do you race or just track? Is it a TL? Forgive me, I'm less up to date with my bikes.

And if you're going to criticise grammar, throw Newton an apostrophe for god''''''''s sake.
