  • HI IMD,

Pet insurance ... difficult decision. I also have a pup and decided that we needed to have insurance because we certainly don't have any spare cash for vet bills. My pup eats EVERYTHING and a friends dog, as a pup swallowed a sock and had to have an op to remove it.... costing £900:eek:. I can' t risk it.

I'd go with the view that the trainers are a necessity. If you can fund them out of the extra income that's great. Trainers can only do so many miles can't they.

I've owned 3 cats and never had insurance and thankfully never had too many bills. However when we got the dog a couple of years ago I felt I needed to have insurance if only for the third party liability bits. Usual insurance shopping and cashback means it's not too expensive. I think I put away £8 pm which is generous.

IMY - If only we could earn money reading diaries!

I have just read your entire diary this morning! We have a problem LOL we are both married to the same man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have only just had my LBM - £49000 before I woke up. Can't tell my mum or she will stop sleeping, but have told my Aunt who is a 'St Martin' convert and is on a DMP.

This is not my first time in debt and would you believe I am still paying my mum back £8000 she lent me 8 years ago to clear my debts but this time I will learn - esp since I married a man who is a worse money manager than me!

Massive congratulations on what you have achieved - truely inspirational

I will continue to read with avid interest!

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!
  • I think that thereust be a few clones around since mine has similar tendencies!!

:(IMD - I hope you have bought yourself some trainers by now! ;) Otherwise you are going to feel the wrath of us all! :rotfl: Seriously though, you can't afford any injuries with your races coming up! And running is keep you sane! Having just started my health regime after being signed off with anxiety, I can't tell you the difference it has made to my outlook and motivation! I'm going to make sure I make sure I do everything I can to keep that up - that included buying what I need to do it safely!

Pet insurance is a difficult one. My parent's Labs are 12 and 14 and they are insured as they are now at the age that they need to pay out even on top of the insurance. The older one wouldn't be here if they hadn't had the insurance. They are sensible with it though, they took him of his meds as he couldn't control his bladder (which was really upsetting him :() but as long as he's eating and his tail is wagging, we know he is ok. You will know your pets and family well enough to decide whether a vet fund will work better for you. Generally, I'd always say to go with your instinct on these things.

Well done on everything you have done so far - both for your family and all of us who have subscibed or are reading - I started my diary after reading your and it is amazing how it helps! (Though I am also terrified some-one might figure out who I am!)

    Take care :)

  • Wow  I can't believe the amount of posts in ebay induced absence. Just popped back to say I am still here, have now listed 87 (yes 87!!!!) things on ebay with about 15 to go. I am slowly but surely losing the will to live. OH has actually come to help me take photos and then slunked off.

Keep thinking that it will be worth it once it's on...............will pop back to report when I have finally finally finished and thank you for everyone for posting. Much needed support today!

No haven't bought trainers yet - going to make sure I list my ebay stuff and then speak to OH about them.
