Incapacity Benefit Wrongly Stopped - Failed Medical

it is lovely that you have your opinions on atos and the DWP but it has no place on here. You are scaring posters who post on here, especially those with mental health problems. If someone is refused DLA/ESA they can get help to appeal from a welfare rights specialist. They do not want to hear your unfounded opinions on whether ATOS/DWP are out to get them.
So as a regular member on here STOP POSTING YOUR MIND NUMBING BORING SAME OLD RUBBISH because it is boring!
Its just as boring reading people who say their is nothing wrong...
What part of the opinions are unfounded btw?
Unlike the supporters of the dwp, I usually post links and qoutes, and stats, and evidence (I note that usually it goes ignored, and groups of people supporting the dwp etc go round thanking each others posts without any proof in, but dont come back and address the issues where proof etc is posted....) thats boring, as its predictable it will happen.
However, this is a discussion board - people could argue the pointless arguing about certain posters and people posting smilies etc is pointless - also people could argue if its only about help then the standard reply should be to close the board entirely and have one stickie telling people to contact a professional advisor....
As for it 'scaring people' - well if facts and personal experiences are scary, we may as well shut all news channels down.. If people didnt raise issues about how common things are, more people with mental health issues would take the problems they experience more personally.
There is a old quote
‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

Oh dear my OH has a 'medical' for benefits on Friday, he is suffering from severe depression and has been on benefits for the last 5yrs, not sure I could cope if his benefits were stopped (the stress would send him spiralling)Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0

The point that I and others have been trying to make is that although some people have problems the majority of people do not.
Boards like this by their very nature will have many posts where people have problems, but very few where they have not as they have no need to post.
I am not saying this in support of the DWP or ATOS but purely to give the true picture in the hope that people like yourself will not be so worried.0 -
All *what* people exactly
Which people are you referring to that were kicked off incapacity benefit for mental problems, who then failed their appeal, who then got jobs, and held them down.
Please show us the details / stats of these people....
All the people who complain that they have stopped being able to get these disbality benefits,
and so will eithr have to work, or will have to find a way of living without any income and money.
And when the conservatives take power in a few months and EVERY person on disability benefits is reassessed, so we can get as many of these pople who ''can physcially do work'', off the benefit on and onto jsa/no beneifts,
we will see how many people die, and how many just have to start working, and however bad it may be for them pyschologically and how much they may hate it they will just have to knuckle donw and get on with in, a the only alternative is a life of homelessness. :T0 -

Well you will have 2 choices if he is told that he cannot get disability benefits any longer, he appeals and that is failed too-
1. He will just have to get himself down the job centre every 2weeks and start looking for fulltime employment so that he can start earning some money to support himself and the household,
regardless of how much he may hate having to do that and how bad it mat be for him.
2. He can decide to not get JSA, and so wont be able to get ANY benefits at all then, and so will be earning no money each month.
And so you will have to find a way of supporting him financially.
(Im not trying to scare anyone, im simply stating the FACTS of what WILL happen,
and will happen ALOT more once the conservatives take power in a few months and sakeup the whole benefits system).
And so instead of the fools of here trying to pamper and mollycoodle a load of random strangers on a forum,
who if they do lose these benefits YOU WONT SEND THEM MONEY EACH MONEY TO HELP THEM THEN,
so instead of just telling them 'dont worry it will be ok, think postive instead of planning for the worst and more likely,
seriously just stop and think about what you are saying before you post the nonsense!
If they do lose the beneifts, which could very very easily happen, no amount of ''positive thinking'' will help them!!
MONEY IS ALL THAT MATTERS AT THE END OF THE DAY!
So if you arent willing to give them money, you aren't willing to explain to them on how to prepare for the worst if they lose their benefits money,
what actualy rea life value will your post be if the do lose the benefits and have no money then??!0 -
Please can someone report post 97 to abuse for constant scaremongering (I do not have e-mail set up on this computer). Thanks.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

I would advise anyone having depression and/or other problems of this nature in this situation to GET HELP from a Welfare Benfits Rights office ASAP. That way you are on a level playing field from the start and not hampered by your problems ...depression leads to people avoiding dealing with problems in time, hiding away alone, not using vital things like telephones very well it at all...you have zero chance agaibst the system like that and will lose (as you probably already have decided due to your state of mind).
Once upon a time I'm sure most of us are aware that many unemployed people were put onto IB with depression and other problems despite not being so bad ...to make the figures look rosy for the govt, and there weren't jobs then just as now. Sadly, these people who could work overshadow those who can't yet have the same apparent problems.
Resolving the problem of govt policy is down to those in politics and elections...this medical issue and the rules or examinations and appeals are much better left to experts ..and definitely NOT the person suffering with depression who is least able to cope with this very type of stress well.
I did this, got help, lost by a point...struggled for a while very badly but the anger it left me with is helping me a little now I suppose. It's hard to be depressed and angry, at least for me anyway.
I'd rather see people support each other and help though, not criticise and mock the sick....one day it could be you suffering, I nevr imagined I'd suffer depression but there again I had no real idea what it really was.
Money is NOT all that matters at the end of the day...people matter, money is a means t an end. The way that others treat you can make your day or destroy it when you aren't well...and one bad day blends into another easily in these cases.
OP ..get advice. Save youyrself the worry and chance of messing up. You wouldn't go to court without a solicitor if you were innocent would you?
Good luck.
