Surely we all want fewer people on benefits?0 -

If thats right.........Then they could start by targeting the people who are not illChild of a Fighting Race.0 -

Your comments may be right or they may be wrong, and i know from my long working life, some people are blunt and call "a spade a spade". and yes people should have a "plan B"
BUT the facts are this ......worrying unnecessarily does no good at all and serves no purpose.
You need to deal with one problem at a time, and when you have the FACTS,
not "what ifs or maybe's"
Their are plenty of people who can help you, including many good well meaning people on this forum.
NtheN, I agree with you for once!
The last statistics I saw showed that only 45% of DLA claimants are turned down and of those 45%, 70% are successful in their appeal. By my reckoning that means that only 13 out of every 100 people are ultimately turned away from DLA.
Given that we must all know that there are people claiming fraudulently or mistakenly, I think that statistic is really rather reassuring.0 -

Many would argue that is what they are doing!0 -
I know somone who has recently applied for, and been awarded DLA, for the first time.
This person works full time and found the doctor who came to assess them very friendly and helpful, and in fact, they actually told them they felt the claimant was understating their difficulties.
Seems a far cry from the sort of medicals we hear about on here...
I do accept there are going to be some bad cases; of course there is, but we receive a heavily biased view on here, I think!0 -

In my life ..i still reckon the vast amount of sickness claiments are genuine...Where theirs money to be had,,,their will be a FEW who will want it by unscupulous meansChild of a Fighting Race.0 -

When every pregnant woman has to fill in a long complicated form, and have a compulsery DWP interview to recieve ANY tax payers money.
Then i might believe the benefits CRACKDOWN is working on a level playing field ........and not just picking a easy target.Child of a Fighting Race.0 -

Which is reflected in the figures, surely? An 87% success rate must be called a "vast" percentage?0 -

I think they are doing this as well with those on JSA and single parents on IS.0
