Where there's much there's brass I suppose.
I'd be interested to know whether they're stealing to clothe themselves, or to sell the stuff.

I wouldn't class lincolnshire as northern.
to be fair, they can be a bit snobbish round there! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
lemonjelly: have been coresponding with a friend in Italy this morning, asking what the fallout of the situation with the offensive duomo has been, and something that came up in discussion was the general feeling of ''social unrest''. I havent been reading any news recently, but my friends tells me there is, promted by economy, politics, fear of the future, increasing fear of of just the sort of thing you talk about here.0

Hardly suprising, but shoplifting has surged in the recession. Are people doing this to feed themselves? Or maintain lifestyles?

At the same time, the tax amnesty rolls on, with the government hoping to raise 500mil. Every little helps i suppose.

lostinrates that is very interesting - though we are an island, we're not that seperated from our continental brethren. They hurt, the same as we do.
There's the talk of islam4uk marching in wooton bassett. Recipe for trouble if ever I saw one.
I still feel stuff could get worse. ITV's tonight programme reports that 2 in 5 of us are too scared to go outside after dark, owing to anti social behaviour. http://www.itv.com/news/tonight/episodes/afraidtogoout/default.html Now, I've worked in housing, & in education, & with kids coming out of care. A lot of the time, some of these people don't really understand the meaning of ASB, & how bad things really are. Sometimes, the really bad/harsh stuff is hidden, or part of a world you never get to see. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

It's a funny old world, but that's the first Daily Mash story I've read that's more logical than the reality. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
