    Hi,

The phone was returned to the warehouse by us, the contract cancelled within 2 days and a goodwill compensation cheque (which you did not ask for) of £50 to cover the postage, any O2 bill for the period you had the phone and the time you spent trying contact us.

    not addressing the issue

I have already done this - I have asked (via PM and here) for the information I need to be able to investigate.

Beyond this there's nothing you or I can do to help the OP at this point.

Without going into details - because the customer has asked that I do not, as a result of the way this thread was 'hijacked' (their words) - this has been fully resolved to the customer's satisfaction via PM.

    Regards,

It would be forum etiquette if OP confirmed this to be the case. There are over 500 viewers to this thread and I expect that many of them may be potential - or otherwise - customers or others who are fearful for their cashbacks.

It behoves the OP to say whether or not they have made a mistake with the dates or if, in fact, they were correct and you have advised your claims department to settle. I am sure that, as avery experienced MSE member, OP will not wish to leave this up in the air.

hi gd, I did not believe that I had made an error with the dates as I believed that the connection date was the date that the mobile was delivered. I did not realise that the connection date would have been earlier, which took me into Jan. Hence why the Aug bill was rejected.

To clarify, your connection date is the date that will be stated on the invoice and not the date that your mobile was delivered. I hope this helps someone.

I would also like to thank all the 500 mse'rs that viewed and replied to my op.

Thanks bindiboo - to (hopefully) end this thread, I'm arranging a scanned picture of one of our invoices with the relevant connection date circled for our cashback claims page so in future it's more obvious which date should be used.

    Ben,

I apologise for having jumped the gun earlier and I hope others do as well. It may be worth adding a couple of words to your cashbac guide on the web to alert customers to this potential situation.

    Apologies again.
