Just a further thought - the wording of the T&C is mis-leading or probably has become misleading over time.

Do they want the 6th bill or "month" 6 bill?. Month 6 is July in which case you could say they are right. I would suspect its the 6th bill they want (as is normal with other companies). In past the mobile company would send a bill a month after usage. So if connected in January, you might get a bill towards end of January or early February (and then your sixth month and bill becomes July).

But the wording of the T&C says in example "if you are connected in January, the sixth month is July" - thats not true as mobile companies bill one month in advance so the sixth bill and month is June.

And in this particular case the month 6 is July but the wording of the T&C suggests its got to be August.

Sort it out mobiles.co.uk before this gets to courts and more people start claims.

This is a typical red herring. CPW companies have cponfused people for YEARS by suggesting they need to count bill numbers. They are irrelevant - the t&c are (or at least were) perfectly clear - the company simply ignores them when it suits.

I know why this is happening. I have been expecting more like this. Having defined their own t&c very clearly originally they now use their own ways of doing things - which totally ignore the actual written (and perfectly clear) t&c. It is very typical of all cpw companies and so the remedy is also very well established. However, I am confident that the rep on here will want to please those who still actually believe that they are a "fair" company and so will sort it for the OP.

Perhaps those who defend this company should ask how many people have suffered a similar treatment and gone unheard because they have NOT found their way onto this site. So far only two with this particualr problem have found a voice on here - many of the others won't have been so fortunate.

No doubt the rep will say I don't know what's going on - but he is as usual quite wrong. I know exactly what is happening here.

MJ, you don't even know what the connection date is for this customer, and I have already asked that you please let me deal with customers without jumping in with your conspiracy theories and potentially libellous claims - I think by now everyone knows your opinions on Carphone Warehouse.

    Hi all,

Quentin, just for a change you're incorrect, I said we have around 7,000 customers a week.

Bindiboo, I have replied to your PM - please follow this up with the cashback team. Without knowing on what date your phone was connected I can't comment, but all claims submitted within T&Cs are honoured.

    Regards,

Untrue. Two haven't been on here - and although THOSE may be after people have posted publicly, many most certainly WON'T have been "honoured" - rather a strange word in the same breath as this dealer methinks!

I stand corrected. (And have corrected the mistake in the post)

Apart from this point scoring, no comment on the salient points raised though I see!

Actually, I do. But that's another story which I'm sure you're not interested in.

You can ask away for as long as you like. The answer will be the same people get sometimes when making a proper claim to your cashback department. Just in case there ARE some who don't know what you're like. If you don't like it, SUE ME! I can categorically state that I've never been sued for libel, so I'm just as fair and scrupulous as you are - and THEN some!!

    the t&c are perfectly clear

Thanks. We think so too, including the sentence that actually starts "for the avoidance of doubt" and then explains how to work out which bill to submit.

Neither of us know when bindiboo was connected so neither of us can really comment, can we?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Sorry to jump in, but CPW has had loads of issues with the T&C's.
ONLY the T&C's at the time of purhase are applicable and can ONLY be changed with the agreement of the customer.
So why are the T&C's not made more clear??
Obviously they aren't otherwise the Customer Service agents would not have any issues deciphering them??
Are conflicting replies done for a reason??
    Maybe to give confusion??

For anyone who doesn't realise, the cpw and mobiles.co.uk are one and the same.

    From their website:
Mobiles.co.uk is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Carphone Warehouse Group.
