I took up the same offer too. Have been paying £24.99 for almost 2 years but at the time, I needed a laptop & couldn't afford to buy one outright so was happy enough with the deal. My contract is up in Nov so I have been looking into changing. Tonight however, I had a call from aol asking if I was happy with their service. I said I was & then they said as I was coming to the end of my contract, they could offer me a better deal. £14.99 for the same service which is wireless bb plus they would upgrade my talk talk package to include all landline calls not just evening & weekends which I currently have. They said it was an 18 month contract & asked if they could sign me up straight away. I said that although it was a good offer, I was renegotiating my sky package & was considering including their bb package as well. They then said ok, then we'll let you have it all for £6.99 a month. I still stalled & said that I didn't want to be tied into an 18 month contract. They have now offered it to me for £6.99 on a 12 month contract. Can't believe how easy it was. :T
I've just been onto AOL as my contract has just finished! I have been paying £14.99pm for BB & Free anytime calls with AOL Talk! I asked if there was a better deal & was told that I was on the cheapest possible! I was told that I would get a better deal when the contract finished but this doesn't seem so if the CS guy is to be believed! Where do I go from here? Is it worth me calling back & saying that I'm going to leave? Will they offer me a better deal?
Thanks in advance

I phoned AOL yesterday, I have the same deal as you at £14.99 said was leaving to O2 and they offered unlimited download broadband and free anytime calls for £6.99 a month with first 3 months free.0 -
i got offered the £6.99 deal too about 3 weeks ago--upto 8mb unlimited+free anytime calls+free router+12 months contract. i used to pay £9.99 before.
i threatened to leave to orange free broadband(fib)--was told by the AOL rep that they have the worst broadband service.
then i mentioned O2 and immediately got offered the deal0 -
Thanks for all your advise,
I rang back today & managed to get the £9.99 package (Broadband & Anytime phone calls) for an 18 month contract! I know its not as good as some of you but better than nothing! I tried to get it lower & over 1yr but they would shift! £5 saving a month is better than nothing...

I was with AOL on £9.99 contract.
Looked at my bank statement and they had taken over £21.
Rang them up, got through to someone in India (or somewhere), they said its new billing rate and we sent you email detailing this.
Knew I had not received at email about this, asked what email address they were using, it was an AOL one. I don't use AOL email as its s***.
I was at work so could not check this AOL address....
later I did, no emails of course, none at all. Thought I would change BB supplier so had a look but my exchange only has BT wholesale.
Called up AOL again and got through to Irish office I think (rubbish VOIP line) and spoke to woman there. Said what had happened and that first I saw of it was on bank statment, she said they are also meant to write but i got no letter.
Said I wanted MAC code, but that section was closed, but she offered BB + their call package for £12.99 (wasn't really wanting that) or BB only for £14.99 per month on 18 month contract and the first 3 months free.
So I went for that,
hope info useful to someone.
P.s. also asked to redirect all email from AOL address to my usual email address, she says cannot do that - been like that for 10 year she said. No wonder AOL loses customers...0
