I sent some rubbish stuff to postgold for cash. I had been quoted around £30 by local jewellers. Less than 24hours after posting the pack I received an offer of £22. I rejected it saying I had been offered £70 from a local jeweller. 2 hours later they called back and offered me £65 which was paid into my account the next day!!!:T
Very happy with their service! Will use again!0 -

IMO, stick to Hatton garden metals or Elm investments. Both normally pay more than any of the cash for gold places that advertise on TV or in the newspapers.0 -

Just sold a bit more today to the Birmingham Gold Company. Got £11.46 a gram for 9 carat. Better than HGM which was £11.28. They also weigh gold in front of you or if you post it in they send you a photo of items on their scales.very important
Its not just about price Its also about actual weight.0 -
Selling gold and silver is not just about securing the best price per gram. That's like going to a petrol station because they've got the best prices and paying for petrol put in your car WITHOUT getting to see how much you have put in. Always get to see the weight of the items you are selling.
It's against the law to sell petrol without indicating clearly how much is being sold. It should be the same with selling gold. It should be law that you get proof of weight.0 -

It is the same when selling gold.
Don't forget that in the case of petrol, it is the garage who is doing the selling, and as you rightly stated, they are obliged to state the price and quantity being sold.
With the gold, it is you that is doing the selling (and therefore it is you that should be responsible for stating the exact weight and quantity) and the gold dealer is simply offering you a price for the goods that you send them.if you post it in they send you a photo of items on their scales0 -

I have used CASH4MYGOLD.CO.UK and got the best price the market offered at the time. As at the 20/7/11 they are offering £11.65 per gram for 9 carat gold. Don't think you can beat that0

:jA word of advice. Doesn't matter what condition the gold is in. If its gold its worth the same if damaged or not. Make sure you know the weight and check the price online before you sell. Many have sold their gold for silly prices.0
