Selling Gold for cash

Do these companies buy gold jewellery with diamonds as I have a couple of diamond cluster rings with stones missing?

I had a look on ebay to see what sort of price scrap gold is selling for and I'm struggling to understand why there's such a huge difference in price for what looks like very similar lots

looking at selections of 9ct gold jewellery lots, some of them won't even sell for a penny yet others literally go for thousands, I can't see much different in the weights or items, does anyone know why?

I had been looking into sending my gold to one of the websites that is also advertised on t.v. but having read this forum I will be trying Hatton Garden Metals once I have checked all the gold I have to sell for it's hallmark and weight.

I'll let you know how it goes!

hi Guys,

On saturday went to cash converters to see what they would pay for some gold and they offered £320.00, but thought i would try cashmygold.com and today they have offered me a cheque for £130.79, so they are pants as called them up and would not budge so can anyone recomend another way as i think i could get maybe £400 as most of the gold is 22cct.

I personally found I had a better deal going to a local jeweller. I had quite a few bits of gold but it didn't really weigh much about 3-4 grams. Online, I was quoted about £30 maximum, but I got £65 from a local jeweller!

I was just reading through this thread and just came across the previous post(the one where the person from the company went to the consumers house). I know everyone on here is really sensible but please please be careful before allowing outside companies into your home! It just you do read so much about scams and really elaborate schemes that I urge everyone to be extra cautious. I saw on this months Crimewatch a scheme where criminals pretend to be the police and ring up elderly people claiming a third party has their card details. They then go around to their targets house and take cards plus pins-the victim not realising until too that they have been scamed. I know this not related to the actual sale of gold its, just I would hate anyone experiencing or losing their valuables.
