Thats not good Mel, hope it gets sorted soon
On the bright side - you only have to pay off 30%, your doing so good, go you !0 -
Car insurance still not sorted...grrr!
Not a bad month, but quite a bit off my target again this month. Total paid in Jan was £1,556 (ex. WL is £1,452).
hmmm - now £1,200 off my target to date but I suppose it was always going to be a challenge. Will try to have a good month this month xPaying down the mortgage:

Mel thats really impressive ! Your debt at highest (sorry to remind you but there is a point !) was around the 45k mark just a little under 2 years ago. You have come such a long way, im very impressed.
This last bit will be gone in no time.

Its quite a shocking figure isn't it!! I hope so - we would like to be debt free by the summer and then we can go on holiday. I am very lucky to have such a supportive bf - we would never have been able to do this if he hadn;t been so good
Love seeing that your credit card is zero in your signature!Paying down the mortgage:

A holiday would be a great way to celebrate after you become debt free and you can start saving for other good things.
Oh I know ! Im so happy its 0, I never had a huge amount but it was ALWAYS here and I kept adding "little treats" to it so probably paid well over £1.5k to it over the last year, kept going up and down. But no more ! Only emergencies.0 -
Hi
Just read your diary from the start, you have done amazingly well, I'm sure you will pay the rest off in no time at all.
I'm just starting out on seriously trying to pay my debts off, currently at over £27k, the interest on one or two of my (7) cards is quite high so am starting to pay extra off those.

Thanks for posting. and good luck with your challenge! Do you have a diary?
You have lots of posts, so I;ll assume you are quite experienced though.Paying down the mortgage:

Final payment of the month made - total paid since 1 September is now £12,021! I am still a bit off the pace to pay off the debts by 1 July (about £335 off the cumulative target).
This month I am planning to cash in an ISA worth about £700 so will be using this to pay off the debt.
We have two credit cards left and a large overdraft with A&L (£1800!!!)
The end is so close now, I can't quite believe we have paid off all this money, I would love to know what we were doing with it before!!
I keep a spreadsheet to show our debt each month and I love to look at how much debt we were in 6 months ago, or a year ago. Its so motivating!
We are starting to plan life after debt - I feel like its not real! Our first thing will be to go on holiday, better start the diet....Paying down the mortgage:
