Thanks LC. Few days off from the thread as nothing to report really. Birthday was a quiet one as we went out the Saturday before. Recieved £200 as presents so some of that will be going somewhere most probably the emergancy fund. Want some professional golf lessons so will try and budget £40 for this fund.

First statement of the month is already in which is Capital One. The card with which im concentrating on paying off first. This reads as expected at £1359 which is £171 ahead of my original target of £1530 for October.:T
The others will be minimal as only paying the minimum amount but on first looks is still going well. All finalising and figures etc will be updated around the 15th of each month with a full breakdown.

Decided not to appeal against that credit card as its due to late payment so my own silly fault. I will just concentrate on paying on time in future and getting these debts down. Still need to do the PPI letter though.

Again not much happening. Credit cards all up to date etc. Have £8.00 so far in lose change so come pay day next Friday that a few pound extra on the cards.
I do have two matched betting things on the go at the minute which has tied a bit of money up for a week or so but after that should come out with hopefully at least £80 profit.
The Halifax have also cashed the cheque for my SAR so hopefully i should get all my past statements shortly. If i can claim all those charges by Christmas and get the money back it will be a nice welcome bonus and good start to the new year.

On a down side i need to do the letter for my Capital One PPI.

Sorted my Birthday money out and have £200 (been good and not spent any yet). Going to put £30 into saving fund and £30 onto my cards. Therefore keeping £140 for me me me. Golf lessons etc etc.

Startd my Christmas shopping as I spotted a couple of games in Asda priced at £20 and £15 but an offer for 2 for £20 so picked them up. Ideal pressies for the kids. That will now show in my sig and taken off my saving/ Chrimbo fund.

Bit quiet but still on the right track.:T

Oh no ive been brought back down to Earth.

Recieved a letter from the Halifax regarding their new overdraft rates... Now ive failed to include my overdrafts from here thinking they wouldnt be a problem and i could just plod along with them dealing with them last..

    Well i was wrong.

Have a pretty much dormant account paying in the odd cheque as the brancg is closer than my normal bank. With a £500 OD I pay around £6 a month for it. Now its going to be £30 or £1 a day..What a hike and im livid!

So what next....Now i have to hope on getting CC charges back and paying off OD which i will be happy with but in the mean time i think im going to have to do some clever juggling. Something on the lines of upgrading account to reward account getting £5 for paying in at least £1000. As i dont im hoping i can transfer £500 in on pay day, take out the next day and put back in to get my £5. Then keep this in for at least 10 days before i need to use it for the monthly spends saving another £10.
So from a £30 monthly charge down to £15. Do this whilst slowly paying it off.....Talk about money management. Seems another ploy to get money out of the vunerable and the ones in debt. No wonder people are actually in debt.

Just hope reclaiming cc charges is a success!

15th October and as promised the monthly figures as statements are in and its pay day tomorrow....:j

As mentioned earlier my Capital One card is at £1359 which had an original target of £1530 so im well chuffed. The other three cards are there abouts give or take a couple of pound so overall my debt stands at £6810 from a target of £6990. £180 more than expected.:T And also an average of £158 a month over the last 3 months.

This has mainly been due to a few matched betting bets, £15 extra a month in lose change saved up and generally tightening up monthly spends by simply not buying silly things when i dont really need them. Also ive put and will carry on putting at least £15 a month into saving/Christmas fund along with money withdraw from my credit union.

So onto next months official targets (15th Novemeber)
    Debt = £6650
    Saving/Christmas fund = £240
I have a bit of birthday money still available to put somewhere (Tied up matched betting at the moment), also im hoping on at least £70 from that as profit. Ive set the target high this month and need to find an extra £330 plus interest on the cards to meet these targets, but hopefully i will do it. I will get paid on the 13th November so not sure about the weekend would one of the cards will benefit from an extra payment as i get paid every 4 weeks. It will either show next month or in Decemeber

    Happy debt paying!

Well im still waiting on the outcome of by BOS card having increased the interest rate. I knew nothing of it and they are investigating it. This was 3 weeks ago and i told them i would rather close the account and stick to the then current rate.

As for the above Halifax account increasing overdraft charges, i have applied for an ultimate reward current account. Not holding my breath but for a charge of £12.50 a month with a free £300 overdraft i only need to pay in £1000 a month. I will just transfer £500 on pay day and withdraw, re deposit to get a £5 reward so in theory costing me £7.50 a month which is a lot better than £30. At the moment i have £475 overdraft so will be trying to get this down also and only need to keep an extra £175 maximum in account as long as possible to avoid the £1 a day charge.

All that if i get the account i want though. Like i said im not holding my breath but in theory it all sounds good!

    Thanks Kirsten

Pay day today and some good news.
Been accepted to transfer my redundant current account to a Halifax Ultimate Reward. Interest free overdraft for the first £300 so if i can keep below that it will avoid the charges. Basically i just have to keep £150 in for aslong as possible at the minute whilst i get the overdraft down. I guess i can use my emergancy/ saving fund if really needed and transfer it if back on pay day. A lot of messing around so will see how it goes.

Letter from BOS regarding interest rate on CC. Said i can keep old interest rate if i close account. I am going to do that. Its 14.94% so not going to get much better than that and its one less card to worry about at present.

Today i have put £50 into saving fund from profits of my latest matched betting. I have also put £65 extra onto my cards, £50 from my birthday money and £15 i have saved in lose change over the last month. Thats on top of the normal £90 for my monthly payment. So all in all an encouraging day. I have £200 to last me 4 weeks until payday again with all bill sorted.

Oh and also from matched bet profit i have put £20.74 into my silly current account that i dont use to get the overdraft down. Thats down to £455 from £500.

And those bank statements should be knocking on my door soon regarding charges to claim back.

Somethings wrong here...either that or im having a bit of good luck recently. OH got 4 numbers on the lottery which we got back £69 so went halves. Yesterday i got a quick matched bet sorted which got me an extra £35. So an extra £70 in the last day or so.:j
Quite a bit has come from matched betting but it does go to show if you put your mind to it how it does make a difference. Gone are the moans and growns of not having any money or worrying about a bank charge etc etc. A few more Christmas presents bought for kids and i feel alot better.
So treating myself to a new pair of trainers, and 24 dvd boxset from birthday money and putting £20 onto cards and £30 onto overdraft. (Need to get this down to £300 before Decemeber 6th i think).

Also thinking of applying for new job withing the same company im in. Bit more money but mainly want it for the future prospects. Dont seem to be many opportunities in my current role. Decisions Decisions:confused:

So far a great month! :money:
