Bring back the thanks button but ditch the thanks counter. It creates competition and on some threads is causing duplicated link as people look to increase their tally.

I've just noticed that there is a chcek splleing and switch editor mode buttons in the quick reply!!!

it's a difficult one..I do know what you mean though. I personally like the Thanks button, I like to receive them but I also like to give them. I think it's really imp for me to say a quick thank you when someone's bothered to post stuff I need or want.

Also, I remember trawling round t'internet for ages trying to find some obsucre item that someone wanted once and when I did (I had become like a dog with a bone determined to suss it) they didn't even bother acknowledging it, so you do think "why bother?"

Suspect the thanks will be back.....as they've left the thanks total up. Suppose its just going to take a bit of patience whilst they sort things out.
