Hold-ups are definately an option, lots of places have them so i should be able to try them out relatively cheaply before the wedding to see how i get on with them!! Can't think of anything more unflattering than my hold-ups falling down mid-Ceilidh!!!

A civil marriage at registry office or approved civil venue (so anything except church) requires you to "give notice of marriage" 15 days -1year prior to actually getting wed. Its basically notifying the world officially of your intention to marry. I think the church equivilent is called "reading the Banns".
When you call the registrar to book them for your wedding date, they will explain you both have to go to your local registry office with ID and will be interviewed seperatly. £30 each for the privilage!
Ah thank you, we're getting married in our church so its not something I have to think about, but I can stop worrying now we'll turn up and be told we can't do it!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

My little sister sent out an email last night starting off 'Operation Hen Doo'!!!! I'm lucky i've had quite a lot of say in what we get to do, i'm not a big one for surprises. But it's made me get quite excited about it all now that the planning has properly started!
What are others planning for Hen Nights, and how close to the wedding are you doing it?

Blimey, it's all go on here! My OH has ordered her dress... I need to seriously get my skates on and sort something out. I know what I want (not white and not a wedding dress! This is not going to be a cheesy CP), I just can't find the right thing at the moment.
We're not having a hen do, although my work want me to (although the blokes at work made me laugh: they demanded a hen do and then said "there'd better not be male strippers". I just looked at them pointedly... waiting for the penny to drop)
I need to crack on with my invites; they're ready to be printed but I just need to get on and do them!! Got a couple of months still though before I really need to worry, it's just the attire that I'm most concerned about!0 -

Not a clue, I assume at some point my mum and maid of honor will tell me at least when we're doing it, although I don't expect them to tell me exactly what we're doing!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

They're very cute. I have an issue with wedding shoes - I find it hard to walk and can't dance at all in flats, but I have a knee issue and might need surgery in the next month, so may well not be able to walk in heels anywayDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
