What are others planning for Hen Nights, and how close to the wedding are you doing it?

All we've done is ear-marked the date - 3 saturdays before the wedding.
Not really sure what we are doing .... i'm not one for clubbing ..... i have seen something called "Butlers in the Buff" online and am wondering about having a get together at home with drinks/takeaway and hiring one of these to serve drinks(cocktails?) and food ......... not sure my Mum will be terribly impressed tho

I've heard of Butler's in the buff, sounds like great fun. We're still trying to get a date fixed, looking like sometime in July, but it's difficult to get everybody (or nearly everybody) free on the same day. Lots of holidays and other weddings around that time of year.

Think my sister has so far planned a 'mad hatters tea party', then a bit of spa pampering, just getting a mini manicure, pedicure or facial each. Then dinner in a nice restaurant and on to dance the night away. Something for everybody in there.

Thought I'd bump us up a bit.....

Haven't done very much recently - RSVP's are trickling in now :)

Have had to have a rethink on my wedding ring though - the one we saw before Christmas is now discontinued :( so have had trauma trying to find another that

    a). I like :o and
b). I am prepared to pay the cost of :p

So we are now waiting for a sample to come into our local jewellers of one we hope is the right one .....

Then need to book florist & sort suits for OH & his gang of merry men :)

Ah, a bump, and I was going to look for us to do the same (great minds...!)

I'm about halfway through making my invitations (mostly made up, just finishing monograms for the front) with the intention of sending them out towards the end of May with an RSVP date of early July.

I'm off dress shopping tomorrow night (second attempt), finally OH's swatch sample has arrived so I can find something to complement the colours. Got a meeting at our venue on Tuesday to go through a few bits and pieces and to reserve rooms for guests :-)

Woohoo! Got the rings sorted, ordered & 20% deposit paid....OH's is in stock & mine should be in store in 2-3 weeks :D

Also found another florist who seems to be cheaper, and who asked if I had to keep to a budget & what it is so she can do the best possible prices for me :D

Just got to sort OH's suits, book flowers & then get my dress alterations done :D

I made a little headway last week, organised the wedding list and booked our car (Jag Mk II), we're doing the second menu sample this Saturday, and my bridesmaids have all chosen their dresses, I just need measurements so I can order them.

These are the dresses my bridesmaids have chosen:

This one for my size 6 pale and pretty 19 year old family friend in champagne.
This one (which looks super glam on) for my size 12 best friend from school in champagne. Gives her an incredible figure and the colour really suited her, I had to email her husband to tell him how amazing she looks in it!
And this one in the brown shown in the photos for my best friend from uni who is a curvy hour glass size 18, and has a much warmer skin tone than the other two and just looked ill in pale colours! Its not actually the one she tried on (that one didnt have the flowers on the back) so its a bit of a gamble, but it's exactly the same cut and gathers as the one she loves, and I think the flowers add something special to it (and I cant get the plain one for less than £320!)

And I need to try to find a hairdresser who can come to the house the morning of the wedding to do their hair (my hairdresser was booked ages ago, but as its a 11am wedding she doesn't have time to do their hair too).

Still need to sort out the cake, the flowers, the suits (think I might send H2B off this weekend as he knows where he wants them from, just hasn't actually ordered them), rings, having trouble finding a veil, the band, and can't order shoes as the knee surgery is due at the start of June, and I don't know if I'll be able to wear heels or not.

I sent out our invites last week. I know I am early but seen as our wedding is on Friday I thought it would give people a chance to book off work etc.

Has anyone else sent out invites?

Yes, mine have gone out, but there is a big event in our town that night & we wanted to be sure that guests could stay in the same hotel as the reception;)
