Hey there,
just found this thread and felt i had to join.I'm getting married on 4th September like so many of you! (only 179 days left
)
Hoping this thread will be a good vent for me to chat about my wedding. Am slightly scared of annoying my friends and family and only ever talking about weddings! Nobody wants that! Except for on this thread....
I'm super organised to the point of being obsessive and have actually just about run out of things to organise.
Things i'm working on researching on at the moment are my jewellery and hair clip and also underwear. Anyone looked into this yet??

I'm a bit the same way as you, as you'll see from the post above yours!
My jewellery is sorted (family stuff) and tiara-thingy (not really sparkly!) but am trying to work out what underwear I want before buying in probably June.0 -
I tried getting family stuff but nobody seemed to think they had anything appropriate (i think they just didn't want me raiding their jewellery boxes
) Currently looking on a few websites, but unfortunatley i want it both ways. I want something that is fairly cheap, but don't want it to look cheap!! Lol!!
I'm having a dilemma about underwear! I understand that my OH would want something (this is how he puts it) 'sexy sexy' i.e. stockings and suspenders and the works, but i also realise that i have to get ready and dressed in front of my mum and sisters, and might get a bit embarressed!! :embarasse
Also, having never worn stockings and suspenders do i really want to try them out on the one day where it is super important for me to feel comfortable! I could end up fidgiting with them all day and not liking them.
Does that make sense?

Hi everyone!
Another 3rd September bride here - joining indiegirl, Dinah93 and Floss2!
So far we've booked the register office and reception venue. I've got my dress, which was a beautiful bargain on eBay - I love it! We've also sent out save the date emails.
Giving notice of marriage in two weeks, until then I'm focusing on organising the honeymoon!
Hope everyone else's plans are going well.0 -
What to do now?
I have booked: Venue + caterers, registrar, photographer, evening music (jukebox), dress on order, my friend is making cake, my sister is making favours. OH & my Dad have appointment to try suits on in a few weeks & i have a 'chat' booked with local florist in couple of weeks.
We have found the rings we want (just waiting on next batch of tesco vouchers now) and honeymoon is booked.
Not having bridesmaids, best man or ushers. So not really sure there is anything else to do?=====================================

Gosh why on earth did they cancel?!
Sorry only just seen this!
The Chateau was owned by couple, who are now divorcing! ithas not been a clean split and the police have been involved etc now the chateau is up for saleall very sad for all involved! And we were gutted at the time.
But everything happens for a reason and we have the same dates at a new venue!
Order the mens suits last weekend, H2B looked stunning in his suit!
And we paid the photographers deposit aswell
Just waiting on more details from the new venue to get more things organised! Hoping my dress will be ready soon to!
Booked our honeymoon last week too, cant wait! 4nights in San fran, 3nights in waikiki, 7nights in maui and 2nights in Las vegas! and a whole month of work! wooo hoooooo
Only 6 months to go!!!!! How exciting0 -

Its something my mum wore and as my parents are no longer with us its a way of having them there.I'm having a dilemma about underwear....
Hold-ups?....We have found the rings we want (just waiting on next batch of tesco vouchers now)....
You can go in to order your rings & pay off some of the total amount with any vouchers you already have, so you don't have to wait until you have all of them.0 -
What is giving notice of marriage? I feel like this is something I should know about?!
Going to try some of the food at the venue on Saturday - lovely meal that would normally cost us over £100 completely free! They've told us it'll probably take 2 or 3 visits to decide on the final menu, somehow I think we'll copeDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -

A civil marriage at registry office or approved civil venue (so anything except church) requires you to "give notice of marriage" 15 days -1year prior to actually getting wed. Its basically notifying the world officially of your intention to marry. I think the church equivilent is called "reading the Banns".
When you call the registrar to book them for your wedding date, they will explain you both have to go to your local registry office with ID and will be interviewed seperatly. £30 each for the privilage!=====================================
