That should be fun Zig! Little kids are so darn sweet. Think you'll be able to sneak one of the free milk cartons? They were the best!Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Isn't Cinny a sweetie pie?
Almost hometime, yippie! Going to seriously try and crack on with STP tonight.0 -

Yep, shall I see you in the lobby about ten to six? Am bit scared, do we need to do our measurements?
No, this week we are learning how to read a pattern, and the parts of a pattern. By next week you'll need them so I'll bring you the sheet and your samples from last week. See you in the lobby aye.
Isn't Cinny a sweetie pie?
Most definitely one of the sweetest people I know.clearmydebts wrote: »Dinah - there are lots of corners that can be cut when having a wedding such as getting bridesmaid dresses in department stores, or getting them made, ditching favours, getting a friend with a posh car to bring you to the church etc etc
The wedding forums are great. Have you been on to Confetti yet?
No I've been on 'you and your wedding' - they're so competative though I got scared away!
I think the bridesmaids dresses for £200 are insane! They're really generic looking too, would rather get a nice high street dress that feasabily can be worn for something else, or more likkely, ordering them from Landy bridal for about £30 a go! We're thinking just penny sweets in paper cones for favours if we do them, not expensive but hopefully would go down well!

That would be pretty cute! Paper cones would be easy to make too, just a packet of card from hobbycraft and you're sorted. Do you have a local sweet shop nearby whos owner you might be able to (mind the pun) sweet talk nearer the time? Or be able to steal a friends Macro card. OH got big boxes of penny sweets from them last year for about £3 each. Yum!0 -
I'm not sure but my dad might have a macro card, if not I'm sure he knows someone with one. No doubt the idea will change 100x before then though!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Paper cones sound lovely! We put retro sweets in little silver boxes from Tescos. It was quite cheap and everyone loved getting the flying saucers and pink & white teeth!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

wow the thread moves so much on here!!
CMD - sounds great about the house, let me get this straight, you've put an offer in to rent the house? sounds great for the baby and - what a shame you won't be able to help too much!!
Cinny love the enthusiasm!! yey I have to agree with what everyones said though, Dinah I think just go for it, try to get a good deal though (I think venues and the like really can be bartered with!) even if you just get something thrown in for free its got to be good! But you can do it! Maybe other areas you will spend less than is "the norm" ie if you get landy bridesmaid dresses, or if you get cheap favours, (my cousin had love heart sweets made up with the wrappers sayin his and hers names and the date!) sooo cute and then the napkins were held together with those sweetie bracelets! (heres a link!)
I'm sure all the people on here will be able to help you have a big budget wedding and a really special day on a small budget!!
I deffo need to sort out my budgets tonight, I now have £364 to last me untill the start of January with £480 of rent to come out before then!! eeek!! I think I will need to borrow from savings and then pay it back maybe? (Especially as I had that interview for the £500 prize today and I totally ruined it so don't think ive won) I was really hoping and I'm so mad at myself
On the holiday talk, I dont think i ever mentioned that I'm going away in 2 weeks today!! I'm going to Zimbabawe to check out a fashion label based out there! the excitement hasn't really kicked in yet though because I don't know, it doesnt seem like a holiday in my mind. I will be super super excited though!!
Not a lot else is really happeneing here though, building work started on my house the other day - did I tell you 2 cars drove into it? probably forgot sorry but thats pretty rubbish but at least now its on the mend!!
Also I got so bombarded with Careers stuff today I got a bit upset, just seems to be so much pressure from all directions and then when I get stressed I want a cuddle and my bf is now the furthest he's ever been away from me (3 hours in the car, 4 on the train) now you girls in the north east have stolen him!! (he's near bridlington?) and I can't just see him.... aaargh! I just want to fast forward and want everything to sort its self out really
anyways im sure that was enough self obsessed rambling!!0 -
Anyone fancy lending me £300?! Just found this on ebay (2nd hand but a genuine Maggie Sottero), I'm really thinking about bidding!
Maybe if I ask Mum realllllllly nicely!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

It is fabulous! My sister has gone for a Maggie dress (so did I but different to her one & the one you like here) and it is along the lines of this one. This style is very in for 2010 weddings. They dresses seem to be becoming less fussy and more classy.
Ask your Mum for the money - it is a bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
