Hello, 26th August is the day i seal my fate!

So far in just over 1 week i have:
    Bought my dress,
    Booked the church,
    Booled the minister,
    Booked the venue,
    Handmade my invites,
Started to make my crystal bouquest and buttonholes,
My mum is making my cake,
Looked at suits, going back to try on later when they have the correct tsizes in,
    Booked a DJ,
looked at rings but didnt like any of them so going to wait for all the sales to go and new stuff to come in over valentines and have another look.

We are looking into cars and other bits just waiting for replies to phonecalls.

I dont think booking and planning a wedding is hard, ive done it all in less than 2 weeks almost. Its paying for it thats the stressful part.

I love all this pressure and planning and even there we've just about booked it all, im still going to visit a few wedding fayre's just for the fun of it.

I agree Princess Woo, you have got to make the most of being engaged, it doesn't usually last that long!!

We have ordered our rings now, and I have started trying dresses on. I think I have found the one, but I am going to carry on looking as I like to consider everything before I make a decision - when I say everything, I mean within reason!!

My fav dress is Kate Sherford Juliet with matching shrug - anyone else willing to share theirs?? x

I would love to share my dress but DF is on here to and he would spot it, he's my little MSE stalker.

So unfortunately i cant post a link, saying that i havent even looked to see if its online.

We've been engaged almost 2 years, have looked at getting married before but something always got in the way, then we diecided its now or never and got on with it.

I just found out i cant have my dream car as the company put it into retirement in october last year, so im a little gutted. It was a 1931 rolls royce convertible. I begged them to bring it out of retirement for a little comeback but they wouldnt. So now off to look at others cars in her fleet and get a feel for them and discuss prices.

I only tried on 6 dresses the 1 i choose was the one i tried on first then i tried the rest on but kept putting mine back on - trying to find reasons not to like it as it was £1600. But it ticked all the boxes and i love it, so why not. I still love it and when i look at other peoples dresses - i still think mine is better (for me) even though all the others are gorgeous, i only have eyes for mine - its perfect. Cant believe i dont get to try ''my'' dress on until 4 weeks before my wedding, it seems so far away.

Im currently debating inside my head the whole chair cover issue. Our venue has bog standard burgundy conference chairs, and our theme is fushia pink and white. But the walls of the venue are a very dated 1980's mahogony panelling. I refuse to pay £4 a chair as we need 100 of them, and i keep telling myself that once people sit down no one will notice or care. I also tell myself that £400 is a lot of honeymoon money to. But im still thinking i need to have them.

I need some really rational reasons as to not have them.

Hmm princess woo can't you shop around for your chair covers? I am sure there is a former bride who has set up her own company doing it and is really reasonably priced, maybe chair cover express?

    Congrats Phoolgrrrrl!

Hi, I'm another August bride. We booked for 28th Aug last year but had decided to put it back a year.. but this week we decided to go ahead after all!! However it's quite late to plan everything, so we have moved the date forward by 1 day to 27th.

    This week we have:
Amended the church date - have to finalise time on 31st Jan
Provisionally reserved the hall for the evening - have 7 days to confirm.
Booked my photographer today - turns out my boss's OH is a wedding photographer who has that date free - and we got a good deal.

Lots and lots more to do!! Getting really excited now that it's actually happening. :)

I looked at chair cover express and they worked out at just under £80 cheaper for doing it myself.

I have found a company on ebay who will do me 80 for £125 inc sahes and delivery all pressed etc. I am just awaiting on a few samples.

However we booked the church without looking at it. I was just so pleased i was able to get married in church as im a divorcee. Then we went to have a look cos the weather was sunny. OMG what a gorgeous place it is. They also have reception rooms with terraces, ehich we initially dismissed as i thought there menu was to arty. SO when we were having a look round the church we spoke to the wedding planner about our plans and not being conventional bride & grrom, they said that was fine they like different and anything we could think of no matter how carzy or different they would be able to do.
So we also spoke to the chef about what food we like etc, he was very accomodaing and more than willing to try anything.

All they kept saying was - ''its your day, you should have what you want, you dont have to be the same as everyone else, whatever we can do will will''

DF joked that he wanted to lord it up for the day and have thrones for me & him, they said, thats fine we'll take the thrones out of the church for you and you can use them.

Anyway the point is they were well ahead of us and anything we suggested was a possibulity which to my relief was a breath of fresh air as most places dont like to stray from th norm. SO we have decided to have our wedding with them instead, we know its gonna cost a little more money but its perfect, we dont have to compromise on anything we wanted. We can have it hall.

Here it is if you want to have a look www.easterbrookhall.co.uk

Its great that everything is booked with them, church, venue, bridal suites, guest accomodation, they even have dozens of different table centrepieces to hire, we have opted for the large silver candelabras.

We also dont need chair covers anymore at this venue as the chairs are gold coloured and are very nice.

We are already hoping and praying that the sun shines cos even thoug its august knowing my luck it will rain all day.

So i now have to inform the DJ of the venue change. Everything else i am now waiting to book as our venue has a wedding fayre on the 28th feb, so we will go along and see who's there.

My main concern is finding a good photograper who will do the phots in the style we like and allow us to have a copyright free disk.

I have also ordered my bridesmaid dresses from ebay america, they were only £12 each plus shipping. Here they are.

Yes our colour scheme is white and fushia pink.

We are still debating over the best place to get our rings from, highstreet or independant, as well as deciding what to get for DF. He wants titanium as he is a mechanical engineer but i am worried that if anything happens it will be a nightmare for the emergency people to cut it off his finger.

Im currently in the process of making the buttonholes, tiaras and bouquets out of swarovski crystals. I have made the main part of the invites just need to add the information now. But im struggling with how to word it.
