and after my HHC I can now rightfully claim Tuesday's Star!

I am pondering giving DS a monthly allowance to include pocket money + phone credit of £10 a month. But that would be it. NO more. So if (when) he runs out of money/credit (having blown it all at the beginning of the month) he'll have to do without. If he wants more than that he will have to get a job - but he's 16 in Sept so could get a job in Morrisons or somewhere.

I fact I could do this for them both...it will be interesting to see how much DD would save!

If anyone has any experience of this I'd be interested to know - DS clearly needs to learn how to be sensible with his money and fast.
I had an allowance from the age of 10, and a cheque book and an account book (I have NEVER managed to balance my accounts!). It taught me to think about the value of the money I was given as I started to understand how far it would and wouldn't go. I remember being outraged that I had to hand over my term's pocket money to the school from my own bank account when I first went to boarding school, and that we had to contribute to collection in church from it! Blueberry Pie's approach seems a very sensible one.

It amazes me how much you all get done in your HHC time! How do you all manage to do so much?

Practice :D Seriously, you gradually find it gets easier and easier - to begin with you're dealing with layers of dirt and quite often having to declutter or give things a really good scrub. After a while you're just wiping over the surface and putting a few things back where they belong, so its much quicker. Mind you, it can deteriorate alarmingly if you slacken off for a few weeks...

I have made an appointment at the doctors

cried on my way down to Grans today, cried at Grans today, cried at home

cried on the phone to two different people

Do you think i need to go? :rotfl:

(((Hugs))) jinky. Hope they come up with something that works. Just a quick check - you aren't taking beta blockers are you, as they made me cry constantly for no reason :o

feefee - it's mumoffour77 you need to try to catch up with. She comes and goes as like you she's got a lot on her plate. I know she was having an extension built so that (hopefully) her OH could come home.

Someone has been spreading pig muck near here - its really stinky!!!

Hope the teachers arent feeling too down about next week. Know I am!:rotfl:

Well I hope they are lol.. They have had way too long off and my children are verging on disfunctional they are so bored and out of routine.. I think 6-7 weeks off school is totally mean .. 4 weeks, fair enough but this is ludicrous! IT should be more broken up and a week or 2 of it should be slapped on the end of the christmas holidays when it is dark mornings and grotty weather and noone wants to go out anyway.

My boys are both on the AS and cannot function without routine and school provides that they cannot cope with holidays.. as a result they make everyone as miserable as they possibly can with their behaviour.

Just decluttering mint choc chip ice cream.. and a cuppa.. then I need to empty the kittens poo tray and stick the DW back on.. for the 4th time today!

Piggers can see your point but teaching has become so !!!!!! in the last few years with a huge emphasis on statistics rather than on building relationships with children and teaching for the joy of sharing knowledge that our long 6 week break is about the only thing which gets some of us through the very many !!!!!! parts of the school year. I personally would like 2 weeks in May so I could go abroad for 2 weeks/10 days and 2 weeks in October then 4 weeks in the summer but hey ho I am a very small cog in a huge machine!

Are you having your regular blood tests? And do you feel as if there is a reason for your crying or is it just happening spontaneously? (you don't have to answer me - I won't know what to do - they're just useful things to think about before the appointment. I realised with the beta blockers that I wasn't even feeling depressed, except about the fact that I couldn't stop bursting into tears every time someone spoke to me/looked at me/ignored me!)

I'm sure if you cry all over your GP you'll soon be sorted out :rotfl:
